Google Pixel 10 Pro XL Review: Discover the Ultimate Large Android Smartphone!

The Google Pixel 10 Pro XL is an enlarged version of the Pixel 10 Pro we have previously reviewed. It should be noted right away that most of the technical specifications and the user experience it offers are identical to its smaller sibling.

In this abbreviated review format, we will primarily focus on the main difference, which is: the battery. A larger phone means a larger battery as well.

However, after several weeks with the phone, I certainly have some feedback to share about this Google Pixel 10 Pro XL.

Larger battery, improved fast charging both wired and wireless, and of course, a larger screen. These are the main enhancements the Google Pixel 10 Pro XL offers over the Pixel 10 Pro.

This means a battery capacity of 5200 mAh (compared to 4870 mAh), with 45 W fast charging and 25 W wired charging with Pixelsnap (compared to 30 and 15 W). Finally, the screen size is 6.8 inches (compared to 6.3 inches).

Despite the brief format of this test, I wanted to share some assorted feedback on this Google Pixel 10 Pro XL.

I really liked the comfort of holding this smartphone despite its relatively large size (162.8 mm) and substantial weight (232 grams). But note, I’m talking about using it without a protective case.

I think it’s important to emphasize this detail. When I use the Pixel 10 Pro XL with its official Google case, it doesn’t take long to start bothering me. After a few hours in the day (and not always holding it, I might add), I inevitably begin to feel discomfort in the palm, as if it were stretched too long.

So be aware of this detail: with the official case, the Google Pixel 10 Pro XL really becomes a thick, brick-like smartphone. It’s comparable to an iPhone 15 Pro Max or iPhone 16 Pro Max with a case (an experience I also personally do not enjoy).

As for the screen, the Pixel 10 Pro XL continues the excellent display foundations of the Pixel 10 Pro. However, I would like to highlight a minor flaw: the automatic brightness mode often lacks responsiveness, and you either end up being dazzled or having to manually increase the brightness to see anything.

Another quick note: the heat management. It’s really very good on the Google Pixel 10 Pro XL; I’ve never felt it get hot. However, this is done at the expense of raw power.

This phone is still behind in terms of performance, but I think the vast majority of people won’t mind.

Finally, for the camera part, special mention to the x100 zoom which is very interesting to analyze since it uses AI not only to enhance the image but also to invent and generate details.

Overall, the result is impressive, but it’s important to be wary of the strange results that can be obtained on text. For example, below on the label of a bottle of sparkling water where the AI invents an alphabet.

The Google Pixel 10 Pro XL is not THE champion of battery life that one could recommend blindly to anyone seeking a long-lasting device. It does the job well, never leaving you too early in the day. However, you would really need to manage your usage quite strictly to hope to get it through a day and a half without recharging.

In use, there really are no differences with the Pixel 10 Pro in terms of pure battery life. This shouldn’t be the criterion on which your choice should be based.

However, for fast charging, the advantage of 45 W wired charging for the Pixel 10 Pro XL will save you a few minutes to reach 100%. Count about an hour for a full charge. It’s something to consider but not necessarily a deciding factor, especially if you tend to charge your phone overnight.

Wirelessly, the 25 W charging offers a nice option, but mainly because the 15 W of other models seem like snails in 2025.

1249 euros. This is the official price of the Google Pixel 10 Pro XL in its 256 GB version (there is no 128 GB variant for this model). It’s 50 euros more than the same configuration of the Pixel 10 Pro.

The price rises to 1429 euros for the 512 GB version of the Pixel 10 Pro XL and 1689 euros for the 1 TB version.
