New Automotive Partners for Apple’s CarKey Function
Apple’s CarKey feature on iOS and watchOS is set to expand as more car manufacturers partner with the tech giant. In a recent announcement alongside the unveiling of iOS 26 and new CarPlay features, Apple disclosed that it has formed partnerships with thirteen additional car manufacturers. These include Acura, Chevrolet, Cadillac, GMC, Porsche, Rivian, Smart, Lucid Motors, Tata Motors, Hongqi, WEY, Chery, and Voyah. However, Apple has not yet specified a release date for these new integrations.

Enhanced Functionality with CarKey
CarKey integration into the Apple Maps app brings enhanced convenience, allowing users to unlock their vehicles using an iPhone or Apple Watch simply by approaching the vehicle’s door handle or key reader. Additionally, CarKey provides the capability to share vehicle access through messaging apps, and some manufacturers even support remote unlocking features.
