Apple is getting the Apple TV 4K ready to handle Apple Intelligence. The third developer beta of tvOS 17.2 released last night contains fresh references to Apple’s AI features — capabilities that tvOS does not currently support. MacRumors also noticed that the update includes the “Siri Messages UI” framework, which suggests Apple may be working on showing a user’s messages on the Apple TV 4K, likely as part of an integration with Siri-powered AI.

A new Apple TV 4K model could be announced as soon as next week. Reports say it may ship with a much more powerful A19 or A19 Pro chip instead of the existing A15, and include more RAM to enable Apple Intelligence and Siri AI on the device. That extra processing power in the Apple TV could also be what allows Siri AI features to be offered through the HomePod mini 2, which is likewise expected to appear this month.
