Apple May Scrap Folding iPad/Mac Project: Insider Reveals Unexpected Shift!

Le projet d'iPad ou de Mac pliant pourrait être abandonné
Following the anticipated release of a foldable iPhone in September, Apple is not expected to introduce foldable iPads or Macs for several more years. Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman had previously indicated that such products would not appear before 2029, and he now suggests that Apple might ultimately scrap the project altogether. According to sources, several employees involved in developing prototypes have become pessimistic due to numerous technical challenges faced during what has been described as an experimental and whimsical development process. The cost of such a device would likely exceed €3,000.

Apple allegedly experimented with prototypes that featured screens nearly 20 inches in diagonal, as per Mark Gurman, or precisely 18.8 inches according to analyst Jeff Pu. In terms of software, Apple reportedly wavered between using iPadOS and macOS—the latter of which is expected to gain a touch version by the end of the year on the MacBook Pro—and ultimately decided on macOS. John Ternus, the future CEO of Apple, initially had high hopes for this foldable project, which turned out to be somewhat premature.
