Apple’s Ultra Range Expansion: New Additions on the Horizon
First introduced with the Apple Watch, the “Ultra” designation is expected to be applied to two new product lines in the coming months. According to MacWorld, Apple plans to unveil the iPhone Ultra in September followed by the MacBook Ultra towards the end of the year or at the beginning of the next. Additionally, there are speculations about future high-end AirPods models featuring cameras that might also adopt this suffix, although this remains conjecture from MacWorld.

The Anticipated Foldable iPhone Ultra
The long-awaited foldable iPhone, which is set to debut alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max in September, is likely to be named the iPhone Ultra. This confirmation comes from MacWorld, which supports earlier rumors initiated by Digital Chat Station earlier in the month. The publication notes that Apple would adopt a similar naming strategy as with the iPhone Air, treating it as a special edition. This means the device would not be called the iPhone 18 Ultra but simply the iPhone Ultra.
Revamped MacBook Pro Could Sport the Ultra Tag
The redesigned MacBook Pro, rumored to feature OLED touchscreens and next-generation M6 chips, might be introduced as the MacBook Ultra. This possibility was previously mentioned by Mark Gurman last month. These new models are expected to be premium offerings and would exist alongside the M5 generation MacBook Pro, which is anticipated to remain in the product lineup. This suggests a strategic move by Apple to use different commercial names for its high-end products. Clarity on this development is expected by the end of the year or at the start of 2027.
