The first tool, Extend, would generate additional content to fill out images that are framed too tightly, operating with a pinch-out gesture. The second tool, Enhance, would adjust image attributes such as color and brightness, similar to the existing auto-enhance feature. The third, Crop, would be exclusive to space photos, allowing users to alter the image’s perspective.
These innovative features are expected to be powered by Gemini to bolster Apple Intelligence and the new Siri. Gurman notes that the development of these capabilities has presented challenges for Apple, with the Extend and Crop options not performing as expected in internal tests. Consequently, users might see these features launched in a beta phase or possibly delayed to a later update. The upcoming features of iOS 27 and macOS 27 are set to be unveiled at WWDC on June 8.
