Apple to Expand Advertising Real Estate in App Store Search Results by 2026
Apple has announced plans to increase the presence of advertising within the App Store’s search results by 2026. The tech giant will introduce new ad slots in addition to the highly sought-after top spot in the search result listings. These advertisements will be easily recognizable, distinguished by their different background colors—blue in light mode and gray in dark mode—and marked by a small “Ad” label.
Ad Format and Billing Remain Unchanged
The format of these new advertisements will remain the same as it is currently. Apple has informed advertisers that their existing campaigns will automatically be eligible for these new positions. The ads may appear either in the existing top spot or further down in the search results. The method of billing will continue as it is, adhering to the chosen model—either cost per click or cost per installation.
