Samsung has introduced its two latest foldable smartphones: the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and the Galaxy Z Flip 7. The latter revolutionizes the series with a new frame and a larger front display that now competes more aggressively with rivals.
The Galaxy Z Flip 7 has officially launched. Samsung’s most fashionable phone has undergone a significant redesign this year, featuring a slimmer, lighter chassis. It measures just 6.5 mm thick when opened and 13.7 mm when closed, weighing only 188 grams. This compact size makes it perfect for slipping into a small pocket or a handbag. Indeed, compactness is precisely what the Galaxy Z Flip 7 is all about. We had a chance to try it out, and although the size reduction isn’t huge compared to the Z Flip 6, it’s still noticeable and welcomed.
Samsung has also paid great attention to durability, with a new, thinner and more robust hinge, as well as employing Gorilla Glass Victus 2 for the casing and Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 for the screens. It boasts an IP48 rating, making it splash-resistant.

Special Attention to the External Screen
Like before, the Z Flip 7 features two displays. A large 6.9-inch internal screen folds in the middle. The crease is now less noticeable. Even when running our finger across it, we barely feel it. Such a display size is enjoyable, comparable to that of the S25 Ultra, offering substantial comfort.
The major innovation lies in the external screen; it now occupies the entire front face, even around the sensors. This is a significant improvement over the Z Flip 6, which had a much smaller display area. A beautiful 4.1-inch screen allows, as before, checking notifications or using compatible apps like Maps or a music player. It was handy before, and it’s even more impressive now. We love it!
For photography, there’s a main 50-megapixel sensor accompanied by a 12-megapixel ultra-wide angle. Classic and effective. Inside, Samsung opted for an in-house Exynos 2500 processor. The battery has been improved, now boasting a capacity of 4300 mAh (up from 4000 mAh previously). Thankfully! We know that lack of battery life was a major downside of the previous Flips.
Pricing Still Above 1000 Euros
We spent some time with the Z Flip 7, and it’s true that the large screen offers an undeniable bonus. We also appreciate the new chassis, which is thinner, lighter, and more suitable for smaller hands. While it might not be as breathtaking as the Fold 7, it still offers significant comfort. It can be easily tucked into a shirt pocket, jeans, or even a handbag. Plus, flipping it open and closed is still a guilty pleasure, even if the large front screen means you do it less often.
The Galaxy Z Flip 7 will be available on July 25 in blue, black, coral, and green. Here are the announced prices:
- 256 GB: 1199 euros
- 512 GB: 1319 euros
In addition to this Z Flip 7, Samsung has unveiled a more “budget-friendly” product: the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE. This is essentially a Z Flip 6 with an updated processor (Exynos 2400) and a brighter internal screen. However, the same external display remains, a small window that does not cover the entire front. These compromises allow Samsung to cut costs, with it set to be marketed starting at 999 euros.
