Samsung’s New Android Auto Rival Leaks: Here’s What It Looks Like!

A new interface designed by Samsung has recently been spotted in a leak. Named “Auto DeX,” this innovation might take over from Android Auto in thousands of vehicles. It is also considered for direct use on smartphones, offering a unique approach.

Samsung is reportedly developing a new project called “Auto DeX.” This interface aims to provide a comprehensive alternative to Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. According to early leaks, this new interface would be tailored for vehicles and could even operate directly on a smartphone, bypassing the need for an integrated dashboard screen.

Auto DeX by Samsung to Support Over 8,500 Car Models and Could Operate Independently of Vehicles

According to details spotted by an enthusiast known as @GalaxyTechie on X, Auto DeX is expected to be compatible with over 8,500 car models from more than a hundred brands. The interface would feature a central dashboard displaying a navigation map and a shortcut to music. A vertical bar on the left would provide access to the time, main apps like Bixby, maps, music, and Samsung’s Phone app. A second bar at the bottom would include the traditional three-button navigation already familiar to users of Galaxy smartphones.

One unique aspect of the Auto DeX interface is its ability to operate without a car, directly on the smartphone’s screen. This feature is reminiscent of the former Android Auto option for phone screens that Google had discontinued. Samsung might introduce this feature alongside One UI 8, which is expected soon on its new foldable smartphones, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Galaxy Z Fold 7. As of now, no specific release dates or official details have been announced. Interested users will need to wait a bit longer to find out when and how this application will be available.
