Key iPhone Air Designer Leaves Apple
Bloomberg has reported the departure of Abidur Chowdhury from Apple’s design studio. While he may not be a household name, his voice was featured in the promotional video for the iPhone Air, an honor typically reserved for prominent figures within the company. Chowdhury joined Apple in 2019 and had reportedly been gaining more influence within the company’s design team over time. “His departure has caused some stir internally,” noted Mark Gurman.
According to details provided by Mark Gurman, Abidur Chowdhury has moved to a start-up focused on artificial intelligence. The name of the startup has not been disclosed, but it presumably offered him more favorable compensation terms. “His leaving is not related to the launch of the phone, which has been praised for its design despite disappointing sales,” Bloomberg clarifies.
