macOS 26.4 peut avertir en cas de copier-coller douteux dans le Terminal

The Latest macOS 26.4 Enhances Security for Terminal Users

With the release of the final version of macOS 26.4 on Tuesday, a new feature has been introduced to the Terminal that alerts novice users when they attempt to paste potentially harmful content. This discovery was made by Mr. Macintosh who shared the educational warning that appears: “Your Mac has not been damaged. Scammers often encourage pasting text into the Terminal to try to harm your Mac or compromise your privacy. These instructions are usually found on websites, instant messaging, apps, files, or over the phone.” Users have the option to either cancel the action or proceed.

This warning appears to show up only once, Mr. Macintosh assures. Despite numerous and inventive attempts, we were unable to trigger the alert on our version of macOS 26.4. Initial feedback suggests that this feature might not be active for everyone, indicating that it could be in a testing phase.

Update April 10, 2026, 8:42 AM:

It has now been clarified: the alert is indeed in place for everyone but only activates under specific conditions (see: Malicious Copy-Paste: Terminal Does Not Warn Developers).
