Potential Sightings of the iPhone 17 Pro in San Francisco
Yesterday, the streets of San Francisco may have unveiled the first glimpses of the iPhone 17 Pro. Two photographs shared by @Skyfops have been circulating globally for several hours. The images depict a man holding two iPhones, one of which is covered with a sticker obscuring the Apple logo—potentially a Data Matrix code used on Apple’s development models. The devices in question appear to be an iPhone 16 Pro and what is presumed to be an iPhone 17 Pro encased in a thick black cover. While details of the phone are largely hidden, the new placement of the flash and LiDAR scanner on the far right of the frame is clearly visible.
Public Testing by Apple?
It seems that Apple might indeed be conducting public tests of their upcoming device. The individual who captured the photos noted that the man seen in the foreground of the second image was a security officer. His primary role was to prevent the iPhone from being stolen while also trying to shield the device from the prying eyes of onlookers.
Innovative Design Expected for the iPhone 17 Pro Models
Apple is reportedly introducing a new design for the back of the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max this year. The camera block is said to now span the entire width of the phone. This design change will predominantly feature aluminum, except for the glass area dedicated to MagSafe wireless charging. This explains the clearly visible rectangle in recent renderings and the repositioned Apple logo, which is now centered relative to this feature. Apple is set to unveil its iPhone 17 lineup in September, where the key anticipated advancements will be detailed further.
