iPad Pro M6 Release Date: When Will Apple Unveil Its Latest Tablet?

L'iPad Pro M6, c'est pour quand ?
Apple introduced its iPad Pro M5 in October 2025. The next update featuring the M6 chip is still some time away: it is not expected to launch until fall 2026, typically around October during the company’s last announcements of the year. Details about this upcoming range are still incomplete, but we have gathered some information and rumors. Here they are!

Each new generation of the iPad Pro has historically featured a new chip. The M5 chip will be succeeded by the M6 chip, which is expected to be a significant advancement as it will be the first to be manufactured using a 2-nanometer process by TSMC, compared to the current 3 nanometers. This change is set to have a substantial impact on energy efficiency: according to data from the Taiwanese manufacturer that produces Apple Silicon chips, this new manufacturing process will allow for a 10% to 15% increase in power at the same consumption level, or a 25% to 30% reduction in energy usage at the same power level, along with a 10% to 20% increase in density. This enables the creation of either more compact chips or the integration of more transistors within the same dimensions. Additionally, Apple is expected to make further advancements in the chip’s design.

Apple is likely to take this opportunity to redesign the thermal dissipation of the iPad Pro, which could include a vapor chamber according to information from Mark Gurman. Similar to a heat pipe, this ultra-thin component contains a liquid that evaporates under heat, moves to a cooler area where it condenses back into a liquid, and then returns to the heat source to repeat the cycle. This vapor chamber has significantly improved thermal dissipation in the iPhone 17 Pro, resulting in less heat generation and sustained high performance over time.

The N1 chip currently responsible for managing Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Thread network, and the C1X modem used in cellular models, are expected to be replaced by the N2 chip and C2 modem. These updates should enhance performance and reduce power consumption. Combined with the M6 chip, these improvements are anticipated to slightly increase the battery life of the iPad Pro M6.

In terms of RAM and storage, significant upgrades should not be expected: the cost of RAM and flash memory has surged recently. It’s possible that the M6 chip will come with 16 GB of RAM as standard, but no more than that and likely no increase in the minimum storage capacity of 256 GB. It would be good news if the pricing for models with larger capacities does not increase. It’s worth noting that the upcoming M6 chip will be more expensive to manufacture, which will put additional pressure on production costs this year.

Regarding other rumors, there have been whispers about thinner bezels around the screen of the iPad Pro M6, though these are not from well-established sources and have not been confirmed by leading figures like Mark Gurman, Ross Young, or Ming-Chi Kuo. Currently, the thickness of the bezels is determined by the placement of Face ID sensors. Significantly reducing them would likely require a redesign of the tablet, possibly incorporating a Dynamic Island for the front sensors similar to the iPhone. While not technically insurmountable, this rumor should be approached with caution for now, especially since the current design of the iPad Pro, dating back to the M4 model in 2024, is still relatively new.

If you are considering purchasing an iPad Pro but are not in a hurry, this is what we know so far along with its uncertainties. As always, expect rumors to become more precise over time.
