Tineco is a market leader in the stick vacuum cleaner sector, notably with its outstanding Floor One S9 Artist. However, the brand had been somewhat lagging in the steam cleaning category, with models that disappoint in battery life, like the Floor One S7 Steam, or others that only operate on a corded basis.
Steam cleaning is a preferred method for many households, offering perfect hygiene without the need for chemical products.
To meet this demand, the brand launched its Floor One S7 Stretch Steam, which is easy to handle due to its ability to clean flat surfaces, combining steam cleaning at 160 ºC. Compared to the Roborock F25 Ultra, which is priced 100 euros higher, how does Tineco’s latest product fare? Our comprehensive review has the answers.

A Modern yet Discreet Design
Despite a name that might cause confusion, the Floor One S7 Stretch Steam is more than just a simple evolution of the S7 Steam. It does not carry over the design of its predecessor and features a redesigned aesthetic focused primarily on practicality.
The Stretch Steam sports a sleek appearance with an emphasis on black plastics, giving it a premium and discreet look. The body of the mop is fairly slim, maintaining a tubular shape overall, especially at the lower part which primarily houses the dirty water tank, accessible from the front of the device. The shape narrows into a smaller cylinder at the top, mainly housing the motor, backed by a base for the handle. This includes two buttons that are easily reached by the thumb for powering on and off the device, and switching between cleaning modes. A third button, located at the very top of the handle, triggers an auto-cleaning cycle once the vacuum is placed back on its base.
Above the motor, Tineco has integrated a small display with a seven-segment indicator, which is slightly disappointing given the product’s positioning. However, it remains easily legible, displaying the selected mode, the remaining battery percentage, and additional information, such as a full or empty water tank. Additionally, the device verbally notifies you of the same information but lacks compatibility with the Tineco Life app, which is particularly surprising at this price point.
The cleaning head itself consists of the clean water tank, which helps to lower the center of gravity of the mop, and the brush roller, which extends from edge to edge. At the front, there is also a set of LEDs that illuminate dirt during cleaning.
The docking station is quite compact, although a bit tall. Its clever design includes an overhang at the front that prevents water from splashing and dirtying the surroundings during the auto-cleaning process.
The build quality is impressive. As a product in the S7 line, it ranks among the brand’s most high-end offerings, just below the S9 series. This is evident in the quality of the materials and finishes, which are well-crafted. The brand has also worked on the premium aspect of the product, subtly yet elegantly incorporating its logo at the motor, handle, clean water tank, and station.

Steam Cleaning: Effective and Natural Cleaning
The Tineco Floor One S7 Steam Stretch boasts the same suction power as the S9 Artist, the brand’s flagship model, with a whopping 22,000 Pa—one of the highest on the market.
In use, it delivers impressively effective suction, whether it’s dust, crumbs, or everyday small debris. During my tests on particularly dirty floors, no traces of dirt, dog hair, or various crumbs resisted it. I, of course, pushed the test further and had it suck up cereals and chunks of dirt, which it devoured on the first pass. Long hairs and pet fur also pose no issue thanks to the DualBlock anti-tangle system: a comb retrieves hairs, while a scraper continuously cleans the roller to remove residues that might adhere and thus prevents hairs and fur from tangling. Naturally, the device can also suction liquids, whether it’s a spilled glass or a small puddle of water.
The brush roller, moreover, covers the entire width of the suction head, which enables efficient cleaning along baseboards and walls. However, it does not quite reach the front of the head, sometimes requiring a perpendicular pass to thoroughly reach the edges, despite Tineco’s claims. The suction head occasionally lacks a bit of finesse, which complicates cleaning along kitchen baseboards or around toilet bowls. However, as its name suggests, the S7 Stretch Steam can be used completely flat, greatly facilitating cleaning under beds or sofas.
The Floor One S7 Stretch Steam is not limited to capturing dust and liquids: it also washes the floor. It can do this with plain water at room temperature, or with steam at 160 ºC, its main selling point. In both cases, its brush roller is continuously moistened while it scrubs the floor. Concurrently, dirty water and impurities are sucked up, and a scraper comes along to remove dirt and residues from the roller, thus preventing the spread of dirt in its path.
After activating the steam mode, the device takes about a minute to heat up. However, it does not verbally alert that the steam is ready, the icon simply becomes solid on the display instead of flashing. Nevertheless, it’s not necessary to watch the display, as the steam becomes highly visible once it’s hot, especially since it’s even illuminated by the LEDs at the front, creating a striking effect.
The cleaning result is excellent, and here we clearly see Tineco’s expertise compared to its competitors. For everyday dirt and light marks, a simple pass is enough to remove dust and stains. To push the device to its limits, we confronted it with much tougher stains: dried coffee embedded in the tiles, tomato sauce left under the table, hardened mud, and even oil splatters in the kitchen. The verdict is clear: the S7 Stretch Steam handled it brilliantly. It was sometimes necessary to insist for a few seconds on a very dirty area or to make several passes over the most stubborn stains, but the final result is impeccable. The floor comes out perfectly clean, without halos or residual traces.
The use of steam is a major asset here, as it not only dissolves dirt and greasy stains but also sterilizes the floors without chemical products. Tineco announces a heating temperature of 160 ºC and guarantees that it will consistently stay above 99 ºC, unlike some other products whose temperature drops instantly, reducing the steam’s effectiveness. This approach makes it the ideal companion if you have pets or even children who play on the floor, thus avoiding exposing them to potentially harmful products.
Other modes are also available, including an Auto mode, Max mode, and Suction mode. The first is suitable for refreshing your floors but does not use hot water. It automatically adjusts the suction power based on the detected dirt while washing with clear water. The second is similar but uses high suction power right away, handy for sucking up large debris. The last is especially useful if you want to suction without washing, whether it’s liquids or dry debris.
Unfortunately, the cleaning results in Auto mode are much more disappointing, with the mop only being effective on minor everyday stains. Indeed, the absence of steam and detergent is noticeable, especially since the mop tends to leave streaks in its wake, which is not the case during steam cleaning.
In terms of noise, the Tineco Floor One S7 Stretch Steam is not the quietest: we measured about 70 dB in steam mode and 75 dB in Auto mode, even reaching up to 80 dB during auto-cleaning. The noise remains bearable during the day, but can become a bit too much during long cleaning sessions.
Regarding battery life, the brand promises 30 minutes of use in steam mode, which is quite decent compared to its predecessor. In practice, the promise is almost met, as we measured about 25 minutes of autonomy, despite the fact that preparing the steam consumes 5% of the battery. In Auto mode, it impresses even more, as it runs for about 50 minutes of autonomy.
This is more than enough to clean a medium-sized apartment or an entire floor on a single charge, and it’s significantly more than most competing models.
Effortless Maintenance
Like most cleaning mops, the Floor One S7 Stretch Steam requires very little maintenance on a daily basis. Its docking station not only serves to recharge the device but also takes care of auto-cleaning the mop, including the brush and ducts. After a cleaning session, simply place the vacuum-mop back on its base and press the button at the top of the handle to start it. It’s a pity, however, that it’s not possible to trigger this cycle automatically as soon as the device is placed back, unlike what some competitors offer.
During auto-cleaning, the brush roller is washed with hot water, then dried with hot air for about thirty minutes. This helps remove as much moisture as possible, limit the growth of bacteria, and prevent bad odors. The noise of the drying is similar to a small hair dryer, but the effectiveness of the process largely compensates for this slight inconvenience: after each cycle, the roller comes out clean and almost dry.
Tineco also provides a spare roller and filter in the box, allowing you to easily switch between two brushes or keep a new one aside for later.
For regular maintenance, it’s simple. After each use, just empty the dirty water tank. It has a filter that separates solid waste from the wastewater, making it easier to recover them before disposing of the water. It’s better not to forget to do this, otherwise, bacteria and bad odors could proliferate in the dirty water tank.
The Floor One S7 Stretch Steam features a clean water tank with a capacity of 858 mL, which is more than enough to clean an area up to 75 m². The dirty water tank, on the other hand, has a capacity of 700 mL, offering good autonomy without having to interrupt cleaning to empty it.
If needed, the roller is very easy to remove for rinsing with clean water or manual cleaning. The air filter also clips off just as easily, allowing you to rinse it under water to clean it.
