Anthropic has added new features to its AI, Claude, enhancing user experience by balancing personalization with privacy. The latest updates include an Incognito mode, which ensures that conversations leave no trace, and an automatic memory feature, exclusive to professional accounts, that remembers and recalls shared preferences and contexts.

Claude Introduces Incognito Mode for Transient Interactions
Anthropic has introduced an Incognito mode in Claude, designed as a counterbalance to its new memory function. When activated, this mode prevents the assistant from keeping any record of interactions. There’s no history or contextual learning saved. The aim is to provide a digital footprint-free workspace, ideal for sensitive or private discussions, quick tests, or brainstorming sessions that aren’t meant to be remembered by the AI.
This feature mirrors those offered by Claude’s competitors, such as the “ephemeral” mode for ChatGPT or “temporary” mode for Gemini. Incognito mode meets a growing demand for data control, especially in professional environments where privacy is crucial. This is particularly relevant as Claude now trains on user conversations and deploys advanced memory for Team and Enterprise accounts (detailed below).
The Incognito mode in Claude is available to everyone. To activate it, simply click on the small ghost icon at the top right of the interface.
Automatic Memory for Professional Accounts
Anthropic has now equipped Claude with an evolving memory, designed to streamline repeated interactions with the AI. While previous enhancements primarily helped retrieve old conversations, this update takes a significant step further: Claude can continuously keep certain useful information (style preferences, project details, contextual reminders) to make future responses more coherent and personalized.

This feature goes beyond simple historical search. Here, the memory operates in the background automatically, while still allowing the user to remain in control (hence the simultaneous introduction of Incognito mode). A dashboard is available to view, modify, or delete retained information, ensuring transparency and control. Moreover, data organization by projects prevents the mixing of information from different clients or assignments.
This functionality is currently available only for Team and Enterprise plans. In the Settings, under the Memory menu, users can activate automatic memory by checking the appropriate option.
