Un nouveau Studio Display est en préparation avec la puce A19 Pro

Apple Develops Successor to Studio Display

Apple is actively working on a follow-up to its 2022 Studio Display, as discovered by the site MacRumors in some of Apple’s code that was not intended for public release. According to the findings, they can confirm the presence of a new model codenamed J427, previously mentioned by Mark Gurman last month, alongside a second model codenamed J527, about which details are still scarce. The J427 model is rumored to feature the upcoming A19 Pro chip, which is expected to deliver significantly more power than the current A13 chip. Mark Gurman has indicated that this new product could be launched by early 2026.

Advancements in Display Technology

According to analyst Ross Young, a major innovation in this next generation will be in the display technology itself, shifting from traditional LCD to mini-LED. This change will allow for localized dimming in small zones, achieving what are known as “true blacks.” Additionally, such a display would likely offer improved color accuracy and increased brightness levels. For comparison, while the current LCD Studio Display tops out at 600 nits, the mini-LED display on the MacBook Pro reaches a steady 1,000 nits and can spike to 1,600 nits in HDR mode. It’s also plausible that the new display could support ProMotion technology, which would enable smoother animations at 120 Hz, along with the enhanced capabilities of Thunderbolt 5. These upgrades might necessitate the use of the A19 Pro chip, although it’s still speculative how fully Apple will utilize the chip’s capabilities in introducing new features.
