An invitation card from Apple, shared by photographer Johnny Hawk, has recently ignited quite a buzz on social media. The card included the following message:
Hello Johnny. We are thrilled to welcome you to Colorado.
Here’s a small bag filled with essentials for your stay with us — enjoy.
See you soon!
Accompanying the card was a black backpack emblazoned with Apple’s logo and a white flask. This was enough for some to speculate that the invitation might be connected to upcoming Apple products expected to be unveiled this month. However, this appears not to be the case.
Instead, this gathering in the Rockies is actually part of a marketing campaign related to the already-held fall keynote, where the iPhone 17 was featured. In several posts on X and Instagram, Johnny Hawk disclosed that Apple invited him to the rugged terrains of Colorado to test out the new iPhone, AirPods, and Apple Watch under “challenging outdoor conditions”.
Apple occasionally organizes such regional events, aimed at introducing their products to influencers in unique settings. These sessions, however, typically take place in major cities, including metropolises like New York.

Apple: A second wave of new products in the works for the fall
Nevertheless, if Apple does not host a keynote to showcase its new products at the end of October, it is quite likely that it will invite journalists and influencers to private meetings either before or immediately after their unveiling. But in such cases, everything is conducted behind closed doors in large cities, with confidentiality being paramount.
