Today’s standout number is quite remarkable. Casually, Tim Cook revealed that the iPhone had surpassed a significant milestone last quarter. Apple has sold over three billion smartphones since its launch in 2007. This statistic was later shared on social media by Greg Joswiak, Apple’s marketing chief.
Q3 2025 Results: The Trade War Turns to Apple’s Advantage!
While it’s not confirmed, it’s likely that the iPhone is the best-selling high-tech product in history, despite its high price. It’s important to note that for several years now, during its financial reports, Apple has stopped disclosing the number of iPhones sold. Instead, it only shares the revenue figures for its various divisions.
The unexpected resurgence of the iPhone was indeed one of the pleasant surprises in Apple’s quarterly results released yesterday. iPhone sales increased by 13% and saw growth globally, including in China.
Although it might have had a slight impact at the beginning of the quarter, Tim Cook emphasized that this resurgence is directly due to the success of the iPhone 16 series and not merely a technical rebound triggered by the trade war. According to him, this series is clearly more popular than its predecessors.
iOS 26, iPadOS 26, macOS 26: The Most Popular Developer Betas in History
During the usual conference with analysts, Apple’s CEO listed numerous new features introduced at WWDC. Regrettably, without providing specific statistics, he stated, “iOS 26, macOS 26, and iPadOS 26 are by far the most popular developer betas we have ever had.” While developers have had access to these betas since June, it’s worth mentioning that the public betas were released just last week.
Lastly, and likely a recurring theme at future conferences, Tim Cook mentioned that Apple is making good progress on developing a more personalized version of Siri, with its launch still scheduled for next year.
