We’re still digesting everything Apple revealed at its HomeView showcase, but word is another Apple product event is imminent.
Mark Gurman of Bloomberg reports Apple has scheduled a Los Angeles launch for Wednesday, October 28. According to him, the presentation will include a touchscreen MacBook, a new iPad mini, and machines running the M6 chip.
Touchscreen MacBook
The spotlight is expected to fall on the so-called MacBook Ultra — reportedly Apple’s first laptop to combine a touchscreen with an OLED panel. Early rumors suggested the switch to OLED could let Apple slim the chassis, but a recent leak tempered expectations about dramatic thinness improvements.

Insiders say the flagship will arrive in 14- and 16-inch sizes and will be powered by higher-tier M6 chips, likely the M6 Pro and M6 Max configurations.
With an OLED touchscreen and flagship silicon, the MacBook Ultra is expected to command a premium. Analysts estimate it could cost roughly 20% more than current MacBook Pro models, which would put the 14-inch model’s entry price around $2,499 and the 16-inch at about $3,000.
iPad mini 8
The next iPad mini — commonly referred to as the eighth generation — is believed to follow the larger iPads in adopting an OLED display. It’s unclear whether Apple will use the same stacked or tandem OLED approach seen in the M5 iPad Pro.

Given the arrival of the iPhone 18 Pro and Apple’s usual chip cadence, the new mini is also likely to ship with the A20 processor.
Aside from hardware, if the HomeView event is any indication, expect Apple to highlight enhancements to Siri and show how its AI features will be integrated across iPads.

M6 upgrades
In addition to a touchscreen MacBook and an updated mini, Apple is expected to roll out M6-powered versions of existing systems — namely the 14-inch MacBook Pro and the iMac desktop — expanding the M6 family beyond the Mac mini that already uses the chip.
These M6 refreshes are not predicted to include major visual redesigns; the primary change will be the updated processor rather than radical hardware overhauls.
