This is a capability planned for iOS 27 that has not yet been made available: Messages Suggestions uses Apple Intelligence to propose context-aware actions that integrate with other apps. The feature can, for instance, offer to create a reminder or a note, but it can also carry out more elaborate tasks such as locating a fitting photo by choosing the right keywords, places and people within the Photos app.

So far still inconsistent, the feature — which was originally offered only in English in the iOS 27 beta — was ultimately left out of the official release in September. It has reappeared in the iOS 27.2 beta, but remains under active development: pdfu discovered in the source code that options to tailor the suggestions are being added. Those controls are not yet functional, but their nature can already be seen:

Apple appears to be preparing an option to hide suggestions that haven’t been used for 30 days. Users should also be able to turn off specific types of suggestions: adding to Calendar, adding to Reminders, adding to Notes, showing locations in Maps, and the Flights & Packages option. The final release of iOS 27.2 is expected at the end of October, though it’s still unclear whether this Messages Suggestions feature will make the cut.
