Apple Opens Rare Opportunity for Intel: A New Era in Chip Manufacturing for iPhones and Macs

Six years after transitioning away from Intel to its own M-series processors, Apple has rekindled its relationship with Intel to commence a new era of silicon production.

Last week, The Wall Street Journal reported that Apple and Intel had negotiated a preliminary agreement over the past year to begin chip production, though it was not specified which Apple devices would utilize these chips.

However, a recent update from supply chain expert Ming-Chi Kuo indicates that Apple and Intel have initiated the production of processors for iPhones, iPads, and some Mac models. According to Kuo, about 80% of these chips are destined for iPhones.
