macOS 26.4 Alert: Know When You’re Using a Slow Charger!

April 9, 2026

macOS 26.4 prévient en cas d'usage d'un chargeur lent
The latest update for macOS, version 26.4, released on Tuesday, introduces a minor yet notable addition to the System Settings Battery panel: a “Slow Charger” notification now appears if a user is charging their Mac with an underpowered AC adapter. As USB-C chargers are interchangeable and no longer included with new Macs in Europe, this alert serves to inform users who might be puzzled by the slow charging speed of their device.

This feature was previously available on the iPhone with iOS 18 and on the Apple Watch with watchOS 26. In macOS 26.4, another subtle enhancement has been made in terms of battery management. Users now have the option to limit the charging capacity to 80%, 85%, 90%, or 95%. This capability is designed to help extend the lifespan of the battery.
