Apple Watch Shocker: No Major Redesign Expected This Year?

Pas de redesign majeur pour l'Apple Watch cette année ?

Expect Minimal Design Changes in Apple Watch This Year

Mark Gurman of Bloomberg, during a question-and-answer session, advised not to expect any significant design changes in the Apple Watch this year. He further hinted, “I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s nothing major next year either.” Gurman, known for his reliable industry sources, dismissed recent speculations from DigiTimes. Last summer, DigiTimes suggested that at least one of the Apple Watch models set to launch in 2026 would feature “a significant redesign.” This isn’t the first time such predictions have been refuted. Last November, Instant Digital also reported that there would be no major updates in 2026 and mentioned that Apple might discontinue its annual refresh cycle thereafter.

Upcoming Features in Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4

Despite the lack of major design transformations, the upcoming Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4, expected in September, might still present some notable enhancements. One such potential feature could be the integration of Touch ID, possibly situated on the side button. Apple is also considering reconfiguring the arrangement of sensors on the back of the watch. Internally, a new processor has already been identified, indicating that there might be additional upgrades that have not yet been rumored. On the health sensor front, it is known that Apple has been developing a non-invasive glucose sensor for several years, though it appears it might not be ready for deployment just yet.
