First Look Inside the MacBook Neo
While the teardown by iFixit that many are eagerly anticipating is yet to come, YouTuber Dave2D deserves credit for being the first to showcase the internals of the MacBook Neo. His reveal comes just before the official release, coinciding with the first batch of reviews published today. Inside the MacBook, beneath the motherboard, lies a rectangular battery that spans the entire width of the device. At the bottom of the chassis, the trackpad is positioned between two unusually large speaker housings.
The Trackpad’s New Design
Dave2D also gives us a glimpse into the design of the new trackpad. Apple has reverted to a mechanical system but has innovated to allow clicking anywhere on its surface. This is achieved through a new design featuring a metal plate resting on a central pivot that acts as a button.
