Anticipated iPhone 18 Pro Models to Feature Advanced OLED Technology

The upcoming iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, set for release in September, are expected to feature the next generation of OLED panels supplied by Samsung Display and LG Display. These panels will incorporate the upgraded LTPO+ technology, an advancement from the previous LTPO (Low-Temperature Polycrystalline Oxide) technology, enhancing energy efficiency significantly. According to a report from ETNews, these displays will also support UDIR technology, or Under-Display InfraRed. This innovation allows for the integration of infrared sensors beneath the screen pixels, potentially leading to the elimination of some visible Face ID sensors.

Dynamic Island to See Design Changes

The feature known as Dynamic Island, which debuted on the iPhone 14 Pro as a new solution for housing various Face ID components, is reportedly undergoing changes. Industry insiders are consistently reporting that the size of Dynamic Island is expected to be reduced. However, there seems to be some contradiction among sources regarding the specifics of these changes. Some suggest that Dynamic Island will become slightly narrower, while others believe it will be replaced entirely by a single circular punch for the webcam. Moreover, there are speculations that the webcam might be relocated to the left corner of the screen. As the tech community eagerly awaits the leak of the first industrial designs, the exact details remain a topic of speculation.
