TikTok vise plus gros que Meta : ByteDance dévoile ses plans chiffrés pour dominer le marché

While Meta continues to introduce new features across its social media platforms, including a revitalized focus on Facebook, the primary aim is to attract new users and retain existing ones. The company is taking these steps to compete with other social networks such as X (formerly Twitter) and the increasingly popular TikTok. As TikTok’s user base grows, the competitive pressure intensifies, though their full ambitions have not yet been clearly articulated.

However, recent insights suggest that TikTok and its parent company ByteDance are gearing up for significant expansion in the coming years…

Targeting $186 Billion in Revenue by 2025?

As June nears, it’s time for ByteDance’s investors to evaluate the company’s performance. Although the growth in TikTok’s user base was expected, a recent Bloomberg article has shed more light on specific financial targets. The piece, authored by Zheping Huang and Min Jeong Lee on May 16, cites an anonymous source close to ByteDance, revealing the company’s ambitious goal to compete directly with Meta.

ByteDance aims to achieve a revenue of $186 billion by 2025, a figure that closely rivals Meta’s current revenue of $187 billion. While this target might seem overly optimistic, it is grounded in the company’s historical revenue growth.

Annual Growth of 20%

The revenue target is supported by ByteDance’s past performance, as reported by Bloomberg’s journalists. The Chinese company has been experiencing annual revenue growth exceeding 20%, reaching $155 billion last year. With 4 billion active users monthly on Douyin, the Chinese version of TikTok, the platform’s momentum appears unstoppable. However, ongoing geopolitical tensions could potentially hinder TikTok’s rapid growth trajectory.

Challenges Posed by the Trump Administration?

Despite ByteDance’s strong positioning to surpass Meta, this goal may face significant challenges soon. On June 19, more details are expected regarding the forced sale of TikTok, which was delayed twice by Donald Trump. The outcome of this situation remains uncertain and could critically impact ByteDance’s revenue projections.
