The internet service provider SFR has just unveiled its latest device, the SFR Box 10+. It’s clear that no expense has been spared in creating what is now the most powerful router offered by the company.
Without any fanfare, SFR has launched a brand new internet box. This development isn’t exactly unexpected, as predictions of such a release from the red square logo company had been anticipated.
Let’s welcome the SFR Box 10+, which boasts the slogan “power, eco-friendliness, and usability,” and rightly so. The internet provider backs these claims with solid arguments, starting with the first point.
In summary, the SFR Box 10+ “is equipped with the most advanced technologies to ensure outstanding performance.” Exclusively available with Fiber subscriptions, it features Wi-Fi 7 tri-band technology certified by the Wi-Fi Alliance.

It’s important to note that without this certification, promoting Wi-Fi 7 capabilities could lead to negative implications. According to SFR, this technology allows for “speeds up to three times faster than the previous generation.” Additionally, the package includes two Wi-Fi 7 bi-band repeaters.
The SFR Box 10+ Introduces Wi-Fi 7 to the Operator’s Lineup
As expected, the SFR Box 10+ supports both GPON and XGS-PON Fiber, theoretically capable of delivering symmetric speeds of up to 8 Gbps. Regarding connectivity, the box includes four Ethernet ports, one of which offers speeds of up to 10 Gbps. SFR highlights that currently, 50% of its FTTH connections are compatible with XGS-PON technology.
The device also incorporates a Thread connectivity module for the first time. Its purpose is to “connect low-energy devices such as motion sensors, smart plugs, or intelligent switches.”
Environmentally conscious consumers will be pleased to know that the new SFR device is made from 91% recycled plastic, which is itself 100% recyclable.
The box also features functionalities designed to reduce your electricity bill: it includes a programmable eco mode (details unspecified) and an upcoming update will add a deep sleep mode. It will also be possible to monitor the power consumption of the SFR Box 10+, which is a significant advantage considering this information is often not transparent.
What is the Cost of the SFR Box 10+ and When Will It Be Available?
Before we answer, let’s discuss a noticeable feature in the product photo: the SFR Box 10+ has an E-ink display on its front panel, similar to those found on e-readers. This display provides access to various functions, which have yet to be detailed. From the visible icons, one can infer settings for Ethernet and Wi-Fi connections, energy-saving modes, and fixed-line telephone management.
Regarding the pricing and availability of the SFR Box 10+, we will have to wait. The company only states that it “will be offered as a preview starting this summer to some of SFR’s most loyal customers, before its official launch scheduled for the fall.”
Given its features, the SFR Box 10+ is expected to be the most expensive offering in the catalog. Currently, the position is held by the SFR Box 8X, which is part of the Fiber Premium subscription costing €44.99 per month as a base. A price point of €54.99 per month seems likely, though further details will be needed to confirm how the operator will position this new product. Nonetheless, it is promising to see that despite its planned obsolescence, SFR continues to introduce new products to its customers.
