Redmagic 10s Pro Review: Discover the Most Powerful Smartphone on the Market!

Redmagic is back with a supercharged version of its 10 Pro model. The 10s Pro features the Snapdragon 8 Elite Leading Edition, which is an overclocked version of Android’s most powerful processor. On paper, the specs are impressive: a 4.47 GHz CPU, a 1200 MHz GPU, and “2.0” liquid cooling.

After two weeks of intensive testing, including rigorous benchmarks and extended gaming sessions, here are my thoughts on this powerhouse. Spoiler alert: yes, it’s the fastest Android smartphone I’ve tested. But does it justify an upgrade from the 10 Pro? Here are some answers.

Technical Specifications: Premium Features Throughout

The Redmagic 10S Pro is a slight upgrade from the Redmagic 10 Pro, packing the overclocked Snapdragon 8 Elite Leading Edition with a CPU at 4.47 GHz compared to 4.32 GHz in the standard version. The GPU is boosted to 1200 MHz from 1100 MHz. Accompanied by 12 to 24 GB of LPDDR5T RAM and up to 1 TB of UFS 4.1 storage, this setup is ready for battle.

The 6.85-inch AMOLED screen displays at 144 Hz with a maximum brightness of 2000 nits and a 2500 Hz touch sampling rate. There’s no punch hole or notch; the 16 MP selfie camera is hidden under the screen for a 95.3% screen-to-body ratio. On the back, there are two 50 MP sensors – main and ultra-wide – plus a 2 MP macro.

The 7050 mAh battery offers comfortable battery life, charged at 80W compared to 100W on the 10 Pro – a surprising regression. The ICE-X cooling system includes a 23,000 RPM fan, an enlarged vapor chamber, and repositioned 2.0 liquid metal directly on the CPU. It also comes with an IP54 certification, a first for the series.

Design and Ergonomics: Unapologetically a Gaming Phone

Redmagic sticks to its formula. The 10s Pro retains the exact dimensions and weight of the 10 Pro: 8.9 mm thick and weighing 229 g. The semi-transparent back allows a peek at the processor and components, with fewer visual elements than the previous model for a cleaner look.

The perfectly flat, bezel-less screen continues to impress. No punch hole, no notch, just pure screen. For gaming immersion, it’s ideal. The top-mounted capacitive triggers respond precisely with satisfying haptic feedback. A physical switch on the side activates gaming mode with a simple gesture.

The build quality remains solid with an aviation-grade aluminum frame and glass back. The side vents for the fan don’t interfere with handling. The only downside: the back is a fingerprint magnet. But when clean, the visual effect with the RGB LEDs is quite striking.

Performance: Unprecedented Raw Power

The benchmarks speak for themselves: a score of 2.79 million on AnTuTu, the highest I’ve recorded on Android. The Redmagic 10S Pro significantly outperforms the competition, including the iPhone 16 Pro. This Leading Edition of the Snapdragon 8 Elite truly makes a difference on paper.

In daily use, this power translates to seamless fluidity. Apps launch instantly, multitasking is smooth, and the interface is pixel-perfectly responsive. The 12 to 24 GB of RAM certainly helps, but the overclocked processor really does the heavy lifting. For web browsing and regular apps, it’s like using a bulldozer to squash an ant.

Gaming reveals the true potential of this beast. Call of Duty Mobile runs at a native 144 fps, a delight in terms of smoothness. Genshin Impact maintains a constant 60 fps even in the most demanding scenes. Wuthering Waves benefits from frame interpolation for an ultra-smooth 120 fps. Even the most demanding games fold before this power.

The capacitive triggers make a difference in FPS games. With a 520 Hz sampling rate, the responsiveness is outstanding. Once you experience it, it’s hard to go back to pure touchscreen control. The competitive edge is real in PUBG, Call of Duty, and other battle royales.

The USB-C port supports DisplayPort for external gaming in 4K 144 Hz. Connected to a monitor, the phone becomes a true portable console. You can even run two games simultaneously: one on the external display, one on the phone. Technically impressive.

But here’s the catch: in prolonged stress tests, the phone loses 40% of its performance. Thermal throttling takes its toll despite the active cooling. From 2.7 million on AnTuTu, the score drops to 2 million by the end of the test. It’s just physics at play.

This throttling is due to the very nature of the Snapdragon 8 Elite. It’s a powerful but hot processor, even when overclocked. Liquid cooling helps, as does active cooling, but they can’t work miracles against 15-20W of thermal dissipation. Eventually, the processor lowers its frequency to prevent overheating.

In practical terms, what does this mean? In intensive gaming for more than an hour, performance gradually declines. We go from 144 fps to 100-110 fps, from a stable 60 fps to occasional drops. It’s still very playable, but the initial raw power diminishes.

However, the ICE-X cooling system does its job in managing external temperature. My thermal readings show a phone that stays below 45°C on the surface, even under stress tests. Your hands don’t get hot, unlike many flagships that become scorching. The fan plays a big part in this.

Speaking of the fan, at 23,000 RPM, it makes noise but remains unobtrusive. In gaming situations, with headphones or earbuds, it’s not noticeable. And psychologically, that little “whirring” sound is reassuring: it signals that the phone is actively cooling down. The RGB LEDs on the fan add to the spectacle.

Compared to the Redmagic 10 Pro, the performance gain in real-world use is marginal. An extra 150 MHz on the CPU and 100 MHz on the GPU don’t fundamentally change the experience. It’s more marketing than a real revolution. The 10 Pro was already more than sufficient for all current games.

Where the 10S Pro gains an edge is in cooling. The repositioned 2.0 liquid metal directly on the CPU lowers temperatures by about 5°C according to Redmagic. My tests confirm this: where the 10 Pro reached 47-49°C, the 10S Pro tops out at 43-45°C. This is significant for comfort during use.

Performance Summary: Record-breaking raw power but inevitable throttling after an hour of stress. Improved cooling partially compensates, but physics has its limits.

Price and Availability: Aggressively Positioned

Redmagic positions the 10S Pro starting at 649 euros for the 12 GB/256 GB version, which is 50 euros more than the 10 Pro at launch. For the Snapdragon 8 Elite Leading Edition with this level of equipment, it’s quite affordable. Samsung asks for more than 1270 euros for its S25 Ultra with the same chip.

The 16 GB/512 GB and 24 GB/1 TB versions are priced at 799 and 999 euros respectively. Still very competitive compared to traditional flagships that hover around 1500 euros. Redmagic plays the performance/price ratio card to the full, and it works.

Alternatives: Few Direct Competitors

The best alternative remains the Redmagic 10 Pro, especially with the few differences between the two models.

The closest gaming phone is the Asus ROG Phone 9 Pro, but with a less powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite and a similar price. ROG compensates with better cameras and a more refined software. If you want gaming plus photography, Asus is the go-to.

For uncompromised pure gaming, the Redmagic 10S Pro has no rival at this price point. Traditional flagships like the Galaxy S25 Ultra or the iPhone 16 Pro cost twice as much for equivalent gaming performance
