No Lego Apple Store Coming, iMac Plans Likely Shelved Too

Il n'y aura pas d'Apple Store en Lego, et sans doute pas d'iMac non plus

No Lego Apple Store to Be Released

An Apple Store made entirely of Lego bricks will not become a reality. Initially proposed by a user on the Lego Ideas platform, this concept, modeled after the iconic Apple retail stores, successfully garnered over 10,000 votes, which qualified it for an official review by the Danish toy company. During this phase, several factors are considered including the potential market appeal, alignment with Lego’s brand image, and practical feasibility of manufacturing. Moreover, a crucial requirement is obtaining a licensing agreement when the design involves a third-party brand.

Despite the concept’s popularity among Lego and Apple enthusiasts alike, Lego ultimately decided not to proceed with the project. Although they did not provide specific reasons for their decision, it is widely speculated that licensing issues played a significant role. Apple is known for its stringent control over its brand and rarely grants licensing rights. This restrictive policy is likely why, similar to the Apple Store concept, the iMac G3 model currently under review might also face rejection.
