Apple Expands Its List of Vintage Products
On January 1st, Apple has designated three more items as “vintage”: the 2020 13-inch Intel MacBook Air, the iPhone 11 Pro, and the Apple Watch Series 5. This classification marks a decrease in support from Apple’s official service centers. Although repairs are still possible, they are now limited to the availability of existing spare parts, which are no longer being supplied to repair centers. In two years, these products will reach the final phase of their lifecycle, and users will need to seek assistance from unofficial repair networks.

The Final Intel-Based MacBook Air
Introduced on March 18, 2020, the 13-inch MacBook Air of 2020 had a brief appearance in Apple’s lineup. It was the last version of the MacBook Air to feature an Intel processor before the transition to Apple’s own Silicon chips, starting with the M1 model on November 10, 2020. This MacBook Air was also the first to offer a minimum of 256 GB of storage as standard, an upgrade from the previous generation’s 128 GB base storage option.
The Advanced iPhone 11 Pro
The iPhone 11 Pro was launched together with the iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro Max on September 10, 2019. It remained in Apple’s catalog for just over a year until the release of the iPhone 12 Pro on October 13, 2020. This model was the first to bear the “Pro” designation following the iPhone XS and was the first to feature a triple-camera system on the rear. It introduced several photographic enhancements, including the acclaimed Night mode and an upgraded 12-megapixel front camera from the previous 7 megapixels. Additionally, it was the first iPhone model to support Ultra Wideband technology. It’s worth noting that the iPhone 11 Pro Max had already been classified as “vintage” since October 1, 2025.
Innovative Features of Apple Watch Series 5
The Apple Watch Series 5 was unveiled on September 10, 2019, and was superseded by the Series 6 on September 15, 2020. It was the first to feature an always-on display, a built-in compass, and was the initial series to offer titanium casing options in its Edition models.
