Apple Agrees to Significant Price Increases for Memory Purchases from Samsung

The cost of RAM will rise to $2 per gigabyte, while NAND storage will climb to $0.33 per gigabyte, marking a 30% to 40% increase over current prices. Memory prices have already seen considerable increases in 2026, driven by massive orders from artificial intelligence sector players. In response to these cost pressures, Apple announced price hikes for its Mac and iPad products in June, followed by the iPhone in September. It is uncommon for Apple to frequently adjust its pricing structure; the company typically prefers to implement new pricing at the launch of new products.
