Apple recently showcased a demonstration video of AirPods equipped with cameras in the RC version of macOS 26.7, which was released to developers last night. This footage was discovered by Aaron Perris for MacRumors. The video depicts a man holding a book cover while wearing AirPods in his ears. A voice in the video states: “With visual intelligence, your world becomes recordable. See something you like? Just ask me to save it for later.”

The AirPods themselves are not clearly visible in the video, especially their front sensors, as the footage is taken from behind, but their design seems to be similar to what we see in today’s AirPods Pro 3.

According to Mark Gurman earlier this month, Apple might unveil these new models as early as September. They are reportedly codenamed B790 and would feature tiny cameras embedded in the stem of each earpiece. Apple has recently introduced features to assist visually impaired or blind individuals, which might be central to these new AirPods. However, other features from Apple’s Intelligence, like the one demonstrated in the video above, are also expected to be available to the general public.

Update 15:02 :

Aaron Perris has discovered a new reference to an error message indicating that the user’s view is blocked by hair.
