Apple Launches MacBook Neo DIY Repair Kits: Get Your Spare Parts Directly!

Almost a month after the release of the MacBook Neo, Apple has now made available the necessary spare parts for its repair on its Self Service Repair Store. This platform allows DIY enthusiasts to fix their devices themselves, providing all the necessary manuals. It was already known that repairs for the MacBook Neo would be less expensive through AppleCare, and this is also the case when done through this DIY method.

Highlight on Individual Component Repairability

A notable example is the MacBook Neo’s keyboard, which can now be disassembled individually. The replacement part costs €160.58, and a credit of €30.30 is offered once the old keyboard is returned to Apple. In contrast, for the MacBook Air M5, replacing the keyboard requires replacing the entire top case, which costs €473.47 with a credit of €100.96 for the replaced part.

The MacBook Neo’s battery when purchased separately costs €148.26 with a credit of €21.52, compared to €170.76 with a credit of €21.52 for the MacBook Air. The display costs €352.32 with a credit of €100.94, as opposed to €554.23 with a credit of €100.96 for the MacBook Air. The trackpad is priced at €89.89 with a credit of €20.20, compared to €120.18 with a credit of €30.29 for the MacBook Air.

Expansion of Available Spare Parts

Apple has also listed spare parts for other recently unveiled products, including the MacBook Air and MacBook Pro with the M5 chip, the iPad Air M4, the iPhone 17, as well as the new models of the standard and XDR Studio Displays.
