April 21, 2026

Smartphones : Apple reste devant Samsung au premier trimestre
After reclaiming the top spot from Samsung as the leading smartphone manufacturer in 2025, Apple has maintained its lead in the first quarter of 2026, according to Counterpoint Research. Apple now holds a market share of 21%, compared to Samsung’s 20%. In a market that saw a 6% decline compared to the same period last year, Apple’s sales reportedly increased by 5%, while Samsung’s sales decreased by 6%. This makes Apple the only brand among the top five global players to experience growth.

Apple’s First Quarter Triumph

This is the first time Apple has secured the lead in the first quarter, highlighting its effective supply chain management and high-end market positioning. Counterpoint noted that “Apple remains the brand best shielded against the memory crisis” while many other brands are being forced to raise their prices. The demand for the iPhone 17 series remains strong, with “particularly robust growth in several key markets of the Asia-Pacific region, such as China, India, and Japan.” Apple is set to announce its official financial results for the months of January, February, and March on April 30.
