iOS 27 Revolution: Siri Can Now Delegate Tasks to Any AI!

Avec iOS 27, Siri pourrait déléguer des tâches à n'importe quelle autre IA
Since the introduction of Apple Intelligence, Siri has been equipped to collaborate with ChatGPT as part of a partnership that Apple established with OpenAI. At the upcoming WWDC on June 8, with the unveiling of iOS 27, iPadOS 27, and macOS 27, Apple is expected to reveal a major overhaul of Siri powered by Gemini, thus ending OpenAI’s exclusivity: the revamped Siri will be able to forward requests to any AI application installed from the App Store, according to Mark Gurman at Bloomberg. For this to happen, the respective app must confirm its integration with Siri; it can then be added as an optional “extension” in the settings of Apple Intelligence, with activation at the user’s discretion.

In 2024, Craig Federighi confirmed that Apple plans to extend its support to AI models beyond ChatGPT, specifically mentioning Google Gemini. Evidence of this integration was found in the months that followed, but these efforts became obsolete when Apple signed a partnership with Google in January to replace Siri’s engine with Gemini. Faced with an antitrust lawsuit from xAI, Apple would thus need to facilitate the integration of Grok into Apple Intelligence.
