Samsung is gearing up to launch a new generation of processors for its upcoming smartphones, featuring a novel thermal solution that could be a game-changer. This innovation is designed to prevent overheating and ensure sustained performance.

High-end smartphones are increasingly powerful, but this power often comes with significant heat generation. Even with integrated cooling systems, such as vapor chambers, some models still experience slowdowns after several minutes of heavy use. This can compromise stability and potentially damage the battery over time.

With its upcoming Exynos 2600 processor, Samsung plans to tackle this issue by introducing a cutting-edge thermal technology. According to ETNews, the South Korean manufacturer intends to incorporate a component known as the Heat Pass Block. This component is aimed at enhancing heat dissipation within the chip to support smooth operation even at higher frequencies.

Samsung Enhances Exynos 2600 Cooling with a Thermal Block and New Packaging

Previously, DRAM was placed directly on the chip. Now, the Heat Pass Block will be positioned between the chip and the Exynos 2600 processor, acting as a heat sink to more effectively disperse heat. Samsung will also employ a packaging technique called FOWLP (fan-out wafer-level packaging), which was previously used in the Exynos 2400. This method decreases thermal resistance and promotes better multi-core performance.

A leak from Geekbench 6 suggests that the main core of the Exynos 2600 could reach 3.55 GHz. While slightly lower than the performance of the Dimensity 9400+, which powers recent models like the Vivo X200s or the Redmi K80 Extreme Edition, the AnTuTu rankings from June 2025 list these smartphones among the most powerful in the market, even compared to gaming devices like the Red Magic 10S Pro+ or the vivo X200 Ultra, which are driven by the Snapdragon 8 Elite.

With this new thermal design, Samsung aims to narrow the power gap while sustaining a stable temperature. The Exynos 2600 is expected to launch by the end of the year, in preparation for the release of the Galaxy S26 in early 2026.
