The ad was first aired during the Oscars night. The advertisement is similar to the previously released ad titled “Make Music with iPad“.

The ad begins with showing a classroom with “Make a film with iPad” written on a blackboard and then goes on to show students preparing and shooting their video projects. Apple’s latest ad features voiceover by Martin Scorsese. Mr. Scorsese is regarded as one of the most significant and influential filmmakers in cinema history.

“Make a film with iPad” features excerpts from Martin Scorsese’s commencement speech to the NYU Tisch School of the Arts Class of 2014.

In addition to posting the new tv ad Apple has also posted videos of students of Los Angeles County High School, featured in the ad, sharing their inspiration and concept behind their video project.

As a disclosure Apple shared that the company provided iPads to the students for the purpose of creating their movies. The students used the iPad to write, produce, shoot, score, and edit their films.

The ad also highlights the apps and accessories the students used during the making of the video. The apps shown in the video include: Final Draft WriterFiLMiC ProGarageBand, and VideoGrade. The students also used the Apogee MiC (available from Apple’s online store) to record high-fidelity dialogues.

Apple’s iOS tv ads have almost always focused on what you can accomplish with the devices rather than talking about the hardware specifications. This contrasts with its competitors ad campaigns that boast about camera megapixels, RAM and processors.

During the Academy Awards on Sunday night, Apple aired a new iPad TV ad called, ‘Hollywood’. The new ad focuses entirely on movies, movie production, and also shows clips from popular American movies such as Back to the Future, Apollo 13, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.

‘Hollywood’ is structured the same way as the last set of ads that were released for the iPad, called ‘Alive’ and ‘Together’. The new ad scheme showcases some of the over 300,000 apps available for the iPad, with ‘Hollywood’ using the words ‘Lights’, ‘Camera’, and ‘Action’ to describe the apps.

Some apps shown in the ad include, Apple’s iMovie for iOS, the iTunes Store, Polaroid, Apple Maps, and Bad Robot Production’s Action Movie FX. Interestingly, Bad Robot Productions is a film and television production company owned by American producer and director, J. J. Abrams.

Apple has launched new TV ad campaigns, focusing on the App Store and the range of apps offered for iOS devices. On Sunday, Apple aired two new TV ads for its iPad and iPad mini, called ‘Alive’ and ‘Together’, highlighting the over 300,000 apps available for the device. The ads, both of which had a similar theme, showed a number of words flashing across the screen, stopping at a few to describe the device.

At the same time, applications from the App Store were in use on the iPad including AmpliTube,, GarageBand, TED, iMovie, iBooks, Dinosaur Zoo, Toca Hair Salon, Vimeo, Rockmate, Glow Hockey 2 HD, and FaceTime. The ads arrive after Apple launched a billboard campaign with a similar theme, and seem to accompany the billboards posted along many highways and train stations in major metropolitan areas.

Apple’s latest ad campaign appears to show a range of applications from gaming and reading, to built in features such as FaceTime. In a 9to5Mac report about the new Apple ad, the site posted a tweet from one of its users, which noted that the hands using the device in the new ads change depending on the type of app. At one point, a baby appears to be using one of the word identification applications in the ad, “Together”.

Apple’s ad campaigns have been highly successful in the past, particularly those introduced for the iPad mini following its release. Apple has always been focused on the usability of a device instead of the device’s technology since the introduction of the original iPad in 2010. However, the company appears to be refocusing its ads on the applications available for the device, which has also played a large part in the iPad’s success.

]]> 3 Apple’s New TV Ad – All On iPad Fri, 17 Aug 2012 15:08:42 +0000 Read More]]> All on iPad TV Ad - Apple

Apple recently released yet another iPad advertisement, and appears to be using the same strategy in all ads for the new iPad. The advertisement shows an iPad in use against a pure white background, as in all Apple ads. As the user runs through different features such as Twitter, iBooks, and AirPlay, each feature is narrated.

Read it. Tweet it.
Be surprised. Be productive.
Make a sale. Make some lunch.
Make it movie night.
Play a game. Or an old favorite
Do it all more beautifully, with the Retina display, on iPad.

This latest ad continues to show users all of the everyday features that the iPad is capable of and how exactly it would fit into someone’s lifestyle. This is the third ad released for Apple’s new iPad with Retina Display. Ads for the iPad now join the Cupertino company’s popular Siri ads as well as a recent string of ads dedicated to the Genius Bar and Apple’s services.

]]> 0 Apple Airs New iPad 2 TV Ad “Love” Tue, 22 Nov 2011 22:41:16 +0000 Read More]]> On Tuesday, Apple began airing their new iPad 2 TV ad, dubbed “Love”. The ad is narrated by Peter Coyote, as with all of Apple’s recent iPhone and iPad commercials. Peter Coyote says the following, while scenes of the iPad 2 in real life situations flash by:

For some it’s a lifelong passion [shows basketball plays]. For others, it’s something discovered yesterday [shows music mixer]. We all have things that speak to us [shows 3D car model]. They drive us to get up early [shows landscape painting]. And stay up late [shows iMovie]. Getting lost in the things we love has never felt quite like this [shows dinosaur animation].

Apple has taken a very personal approach with their iPhone and iPad commercials in recent months, appealing more to the simplicity and real time use rather than the technical side of the product. The iPad 2 has seen great success in the year 2011, as Steve Jobs predicted and continues to rack up sales with its phenomenal string of advertisements.

Apple will likely release 2-3 more ads as December approaches in order to rack up holiday sales and make sure that the iPad 2 and iPhone 4S reach above and beyond last quarter’s sales figures.

Will you be picking up an iPad 2 this holiday season? How effective do you think these ads are?

]]> 3 Apple Releases New iPad 2 TV Ad ‘Learn’ Fri, 02 Sep 2011 22:05:08 +0000 Read More]]> Apple recently posted a new iPad 2 TV ad titled “Learn” on it’s website. The latest ad follows the same theme and concept as in the previous advertisements. The ad focuses on user experience and highlights how the iPad can be used in the field on education.

Are you curious about new ideas? Do you want to learn a new language or just a new word? Maybe you want to know more about anatomy or astronomy. You could master something new or uncover a hidden talent. There’s never been a better time to learn.

We’ve been covering the iPad 2 advertisements released in the past and have pointed out the difference in Apple’s ads and competitors TV ads. Tablet manufacturers like Samsung and Motorola have been focusing on technical specifications or the feature set however, what most users want to understand is how a tablet computer could help them. Apple seems to understand this very well and their advertisements continue to focus on how a user could use the device.

iPad 2 has proved to be very successful product launch for the company and the tablet computer continues to hold majority of the market share in spite of the competition from Android tablets.

]]> 2 Apple posts new iPad 2 TV Ad “We’ll Always” Mon, 25 Jul 2011 18:33:37 +0000 Read More]]> Apple iPad 2 Tv Ad We will always

Apple recently posted a new iPad 2 TV ad “We’ll Always” that follows the same theme as in previous advertisements. Just like the ad titled “Now” and “If You Asked” the advert doesn’t highlight any hardware features but, focuses on user experience.

We’ll never stop sharing our memories or getting lost in a good book. We’ll always cook dinner and cheer for our favorite team. We’ll still go to meetings, make home movies, and learn new things. But how we do all this will never be the same.

Apple’s TV ads are very different from its competitors who have been heavily marketing hardware features like cameras, flash support and the processor speed. iPad 2 has been leading the way in the tablet market and if we consider the sales figures then it seems that the iPad continues to be the number one choice for customers worldwide.

Samsung, HP, Motorola and BlackBerry all have tablets available in the market but have found it hard to see the success Apple has had with the iPad.

Considering the fact that tablet computers have become successful after the release of iPad, Apple’s strategy to highlight all the things you can do with an iPad conveys just the right message to potential customers.

Apps mentioned in the ad include: iBooks, The Photo Cookbook, MLB, Fuze Meeting HD, iMovie and Alphabet Fun.

]]> 3 Apple Posts New iPad 2 TV Ad “If You Asked” Wed, 04 May 2011 13:22:07 +0000 Read More]]> Apple on Tuesday posted a new iPad 2 TV ad “If You Asked” on its website. The advertisement describes the user experience as intuitive, inspiring, ground breaking, powerful, the future and magic. But if you asked Apple they would say, “it’s just getting started.”

This ad just like all other Apple product advertisements focuses on user experience as opposed to focussing on hardware specifications. iPad competitors are trying their best to come up with the best CPU, more RAM and better cameras but they seem to have forgotten that it’s not just about offering better specs but offering a great user experience too. And this is where most tablets have failed to compete with Apple’s iPad.

iPad 2 is truly the best tablet available in the market at this moment. All other tablets available up-till now haven’t been able to sell as many iPads as Apple which clearly shows that end users continue to vote for Apple with their wallets.

The tablet market is in it’s early stage of evolution where every year we’ll see this product maturing further. Apple has certainly taken the lead and will continue to play an important role in defining this product category.

It’s already a revolution and its only just begun!

[9to5Mac] ]]> 0 Steve Jobs at the Oscars. New iPad advert. No camera Mon, 08 Mar 2010 03:31:54 +0000 Read More]]> Steve Jobs Oscars iPad Commercial

Steve Jobs was in attendance at the Oscars tonight in the US, where a new iPad TV ad aired. It seems the Oscars are the new Super Bowl as far as Apple are concerned!

The same advert is now up on Apple’s front page. The video is kind of a fast forward through the main features of the iPad’s User Interface and Apps. Nothing particularly new there apart from a quick shot of someone inserting an image into a text document which looks quite nifty.

One thing which this pop video style advert confirms once and for all is that there is no camera on the iPad yet. If there was to be one at launch it would have surely been showcased in this latest advert.

What do you think about the TV ad? Let us know…

The song is ‘There Goes My Love’ by The Blue Van.
