Updated September 4: There are differing opinions regarding the pricing of the upcoming iPhones. On the optimistic side, JP Morgan anticipates prices to remain largely the same as the current models (details below), with the exception of the 17 Pro which may see a $100 increase and start with a 256 GB base model.
On the other hand, the analysis firm TrendForce belongs to the more pessimistic camp. They predict the iPhone 17 will be priced the same. However, the 17 Pro, starting at a new base of 256 GB, could cost $1,199, which is $100 more than the 16 Pro with the same storage and $200 more than the cheapest 16 Pro model (128 GB). This represents a significant new threshold for entry-level pricing for this model.
For the iPhone 17 Pro Max, the base model would also feature 256 GB but at an increased price of $100 more, totaling $1,299. Lastly, the iPhone 17 Air with 256 GB would go for $1,099, matching the price point of a Pro model but without all its features.

There might not be significant changes in the price tags for the new iPhone lineup, according to forecasts by JP Morgan. The American bank does suggest some adjustments, however (note that the prices listed on the American Apple Store already include a $30 discount from carriers, which should be added back if the phone is purchased without a contract).
The iPhone 17 is expected to maintain its price at $799 (the equivalent of 969 € for the 16 in 128 GB). The iPhone 17 “Air” would start between $899 and $949. In the former case, it would cost the same as the 16 Plus, which it replaces; in the latter, it would be a $50 increase (the 16 Plus retails for 1,119 € in our region).
The entry-level price for the iPhone 17 Pro is expected to rise by $100 to $1,099 for the 256 GB model (1,359 € for the 16 Pro 256 GB). Apple is thus eliminating the 128 GB Pro model and starting this range with 256 GB. Those accustomed to the larger capacity won’t see a difference, but those who were satisfied with half will need to stretch their budgets. Lastly, the iPhone 17 Pro Max would continue to be priced at $1,199 for a 256 GB storage baseline (1,479 € for the 16 Pro Max in France).
The announcement of the new range is set for September 9 starting at 7 PM.
