L'iPhone capterait 49% des revenus du marché des smartphones
Following its impressive performance during the holiday season, iPhone’s market share has reportedly fallen behind Samsung’s in the second quarter of 2026, standing at 21% compared to Samsung’s 23%, according to data from Counterpoint Research. Apple and Samsung significantly lead over Xiaomi and Oppo, which both hold 11% market share, with Vivo trailing in fifth place at 8%. However, Apple sets itself apart from Samsung with a significantly higher average selling price (ASP); while Samsung’s average smartphone sells for $270, Apple’s ASP is a hefty $946. Consequently, Apple commands 49% of the sector’s revenue, starkly contrasting with Samsung’s 16%.

Growth Driven by Premium Models

Tarun Pathak explains, “Apple’s growth has been fueled by strong demand for the iPhone 17 series, especially the iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Pro Max models, allowing the brand to maintain its premium positioning.” By keeping its prices steady amidst rising memory costs, whereas its competitors have raised their prices, Apple “has strengthened its competitive stance, enabling it to grow in both value and volume despite a general downturn in the market.”

Upcoming Developments

The landscape is expected to shift in September with the launch of the iPhone 18 Pro and a new foldable iPhone model, as Apple has begun to prepare the market for a potential price increase. However, Counterpoint anticipates price hikes across the board from all manufacturers, with a shift towards more premium models and a general increase in average selling prices, which could benefit the leading duo.
