‘Spring forward’ banners have been put up at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts ahead of todays media event. The banners show the same Apple logo that was sent in the invite. Some onlookers also noticed an additional temporary building being constructed which is believed to be Apple Watch demo area. The temporary structure was seen guarded by security staff at all times.

]]> https://touchreviews.net/apple-live-stream-apple-watch-media-event-march-9/feed/ 0Apple’s iPad media event has just gone live. The company will be providing a live video coverage of the new iPad keynote event. The event is being held at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco.
Apple CEO, Tim Cook, will take the stage to announce new product launches and updates for this year before we enter the holiday season. The email invite sent out to the media suggests that the company will “cover” many product announcements.
Rumors and reports published in the past provide enough evidence to expect new iPad 5 (fifth gen) and second gen iPad mini. We could also get new Haswell MacBook Pro models, final release of Mac OS X Mavericks, new iLife and iWork software updates and more.
iPad 5 is widely expected to feature a thinner and lighter design inspired by the advancements made with iPad mini. Hardware specifications are expected to include new 64-bit A7 chip, improved camera and possibly new Touch ID sensor.
There have been many conflicts reports about a second gen iPad mini with retina display. It is unclear if Apple will introduce the new smaller iPad with a high resolution display.
During WWDC Apple showcased a sneak peek at the new Mac Pro. Apple could use today’s event to announce shipping date for the high end Mac for the professionals.
This year Apple is offering a live video feed of the iPad launch event. Live video stream of the event is available on Apple’s website. In order to view live video streaming of the October iPad event you’d require Safari 4 or later on OS X v10.6 or later, Safari on iOS 4.2 or later. Streaming via Apple TV requires second- or third-generation Apple TV with software 5.0.2 or later.
]]> https://touchreviews.net/live-video-coverage-ipad-keynote-event/feed/ 1Apple recently sent out media invites for the new iPad launch event scheduled for October 22nd. The company is busy making preparations for the iPad event decorating the venue with huge posters resembling the invite.
This year Apple is expected to announce new iPad 5 and second gen iPad mini alongwith other product updates. The theme of the fall event is “We still have a lot to cover.” It doesn’t give us much insight into what the company has in store for us however, based on many analysts reports and rumors published in the past we certainly have a fair idea of what to expect.
The company has a history for fine tuning their products to perfect and have a certain penchant for making products thinner and lighter. Fifth gen iPad is widely expected to shed some weight it put on during its third iteration. In addition to losing some weight it will also become smaller with thinner bezel. In the past, when announcing iPhone 5 Apple in its advertisements asked how can a phone become larger yet lighter and thinner.
Second gen iPad mini is rumored to feature retina display. The smaller tablet from Apple has the same resolution as an iPad 2. iPad mini is the only iOS device that doesn’t ship with a high resolution model. Even though many rumors have suggested that we might get a high resolution display some analysts have expressed doubt over cost and product rates.
The fall event is also expected to feature OS X Mavericks, MacBook Pro, Mac Pro and other product updates as well.

]]> https://touchreviews.net/new-ipad-launch-event-preparations-yerba-buena-center-photos/feed/ 0Apple recently sent out media invites for the iPad keynote event. The event will be held on October 22nd at 10 AM PT at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco, California.
Last week WSJ leaked the date and now the event has been confirmed by Apple. The media invite features Apple logo with leaves in the iOS 7 color palette flying in the background. The leaves signify autumn line-up of new iOS 7 devices.
The theme of the event is “We still have a lot to cover.” This clearly suggests that Apple is planning to announce more than just one product line. Rumors and reports in the past have revealed that the company is prepared to launch new iPad, second gen iPad mini, new MacBook Pro with Haswell processors and OS X Mavericks.
Apple events usually focus on one major product and try not to announce too many new products at the same event. However, as the company is offering two line-ups of iPads and other product categories also need to be updated before the holiday season, this years’ event will be packed with announcements.
The fifth-gen iPad is expected to be inspired by the advancements in iPad mini and feature a thinner bezel which will make it lighter. Rumors suggest the new iPad will feature new camera and could possibly run on the new A7 chip. It isn’t clear if we will see TouchID in the iPad as the company has experienced low product yield of the sensor in the past.
Many analysts believe the second-gen iPad mini will go retina this year. iPad mini with a high resolution screen could prove to be a big boost in terms of new hardware feature. However, there have been some doubts expressed over cost and pricing of an iPad mini with a retina display.
OS X Mavericks was announced during WWDC. The company has been busy with iOS overhaul this year and during the iPad event we may finally get a release date for the upcoming software update for Mac.
Apple teased the developers at WWDC with the all-new Mac Pro. The release date wasn’t announced and it was showcased as a work in progress. The company could use the event as a platform to release the new Mac Pro.
iMac product lineup was recently updated with the Haswell processors and MacBook Pro line up has also been due for an update. It is expected that Apple will make these available on or before October 22nd.
The fall iPad event will be packed with major announcements. Stay tuned as Touch Reviews brings you the latest information and product launches from Apple.
]]> https://touchreviews.net/ipad-keynote-event-scheduled-october-22nd/feed/ 6Apple’s media event to unveil the iPhone 5 is just under 90 minutes away and unexpectedly the company’s website seems to have confirmed the name of the sixth-gen iPhone as “iPhone 5″. Many reports on the web have now revealed that if you search for “iPhone-5″ on Apple’s website you’ll notice links to inactive webpages that clearly confirm the name of the next iPhone.
In order to view the search results, just type “iPhone-5″ on Apple.com search field and the search page will return results with links to press release and tips for iPhone 5. However, when the links are accessed you get a page not found error as these links appear to be just placeholders and will go live once the iPhone 5 keynote event is over.
This is the first time ever that such a leak has happened on Apple’s website before the launch event for the next-gen iPhone. The website also seems to confirm another rumor, that the iPhone 5 will indeed support faster 4G LTE network. Using the same search field if you type “iPhone-5 LTE” the website will return an inactive page with iPhone-5-LTE as the URL. It’s safe to assume that this webpage will be used to introduce users to LTE capability of the next iPhone and also provide more information regarding speed and usage.
The iPhone 5 keynote event will go live later today at 10:00 AM Pacific Time at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco.
]]> https://touchreviews.net/iphone-5-confirmed-name-apple-sixth-gen-iphone/feed/ 0With Apple’s September 12th iPhone 5 keynote event scheduled for tomorrow, Apple has finished preparing the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts where the event will be held. Apple has had held numerous other keynote events at the San Francisco based arts center and is doing the same to announce the sixth gen iPhone.
The colorful graphics are generally put onto the glass with an Apple logo centered in the middle of the exterior and generally signifies something about the product being released. This design appears to show stretched app icons of all different colors, interlaced with each other, and running straight down from top to bottom. The colors come together to form one larger tapestry of colors.
Although the iPhone 5 is expected at this event and will only arrive in black and white, this can possibly represent the content that will be available on the device, the larger screen on the iPhne 5 or perhaps the introduction of a new iPod touch, iPod nano, or a new line of iPods that can come in different colors. The next gen iPhone is widely believed to to feature 4G /LTE network, faster processor, possibly a bigger battery and 16:9 screen aspect ratio.
The event is scheduled for September 12th, 2012 and will go live at 10AM PT/ 1PM ET. Touch Reviews will be bringing you an all-in-one live feed tomorrow.

]]> https://touchreviews.net/banners-iphone-5-keynote-event-yerba-buena-center-arts/feed/ 0On Tuesday, The Loop confirmed that Apple is holding a media event on September 12th to announce iPhone 5, as expected. The event, like all of Apple’s keynote events in the past, will be held at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco at 10:00 am.
The invite has a white background, with a large ‘12’ centered with a font similar to that of the numbers on the Calendar application.
Above the 12 are simply the words, “It’s almost here”. However, the main attraction of the invite is the shadow of a 5 coming off of the number twelve. The inclusion of the 5 is now leading to speculation and is being taken as a confirmation that the next generation iPhone will in fact be called the iPhone 5.
It is widely expected that Apple will unveil the iPhone 5 at this event, with a taller 4 inch screen, a redesigned dock connector, and a relocated headphone jack and FaceTime camera. With the announcement now confirmed for September 12th, the iPhone 5 is expected to be available for sale on September 21st in both Apple’s Retail stores and carrier stores. A full preview and likely the release of iOS 6 is also expected at the media event.

]]> https://touchreviews.net/apple-confirms-september-12-iphone-5-keynote-event/feed/ 7Apple is expected to unveil and announce iPad 3 release date at a keynote event on March 7th. Over the past few months, a number of reliable sources have claimed that the iPad 3 would be released with not only hardware upgrades, but 4G LTE connectivity as well.
4G LTE roll out plans in the US are still underway and carriers are working towards proving the next generation fast networking to its subscribers. According to iMore’s sources iPad 3 will indeed feature 4G LTE connectivity:
4G LTE networking has been another mystery surrounding the iPad 3, with a compatible Qualcomm chipset becoming available, but international LTE coverage is still slim, and in some cases a year or more away. It sounds like Apple has 4G LTE lined up for iPhone 5 this October, but we’re still not certain if the iPad 3 will get it earlier.
The report notes that the source is same as the one who informed them about Apple’s iPad 3 media event scheduled for March 7th.
The same source that originally told iMore Apple would be holding their iPad 3 event on March 7 has now let us know that the announcement will in fact include 4G LTE networking. We’d heard previously that 4G LTE would be coming to iOS in 2012, but not whether it would make the cut for iPad 3, or whether Apple would save it for iPhone 5 in October.
4G LTE has only become popular over the last year in the United States and is not yet available on every network. If Apple is to include LTE networking, they are going to have to roll out the iPad 3 on Verizon which is currently the only network offering 4G LTE, then transition to others over time.
If Apple chooses not to include 4G LTE, they would have ot wait an entire year until they could include the technology in the iPad 4, although a few reports suggest that LTE model may make an appearance a few months following the initial WiFi only release. Apple’s media event is going to be Yerba Buena Center in San Francisco and will begin at 10AM PT/1PM ET.

]]> https://touchreviews.net/ipad-3-release-date-4g-lte-connectivity-rumors/feed/ 0Apple is all set to unveil the iPad 3 at a keynote event on March 7th as the company has already sent out media invitations for the launch event. According to the photos of iPad 3 display parts which appeared on the web the third generation iPad will feature high resolution retina display.
Retina Display on iPad 3 will have a resolution of 2048×1536 pixels and now a new report published by DigiTimes suggests that Apple’s display suppliers have been slow in ramping up their production. If this turns out to be true then Apple could face shortages and be unable to meet the demand for its new iPad. This could further impact Apple’s plan for international roll out.
Apple may not unable to ramp up the supply of its next-generation iPads (iPad 3), which are expected to be launched at a company event on March 7, due to insufficient supply of high resolution displays, according to industry sources in the supply chain.
The report goes onto mention that Apple would only be able to ramp up the product assembly around the second quarter of 2012. The Cupertino, Calif. based company has been careful in selecting suppliers of QXGA display panels and replaced Chimei Innolux (CMI) with Sharp while Samsung Electronics and LG display continue to supply the high resolution panels.
the whole supply chain has failed to substantially ramp up the supply of QXGA panels, the sources revealed.
Apple has been faced with product shortages post release date of a new device as the demand has mostly surpassed the company’s projected sales figures. As the supply chain struggles to ramp up production shipping time of iPad 3 may be pushed to 4-5 weeks time frame.
iPad 3 keynote event will kick off at 10 am Pacific at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco and we will bring you live all-in-one coverage of the event.

]]> https://touchreviews.net/ipad-3-display-supply-cause-shortage-release-date/feed/ 0As iPad 3 release date announcement nears rumors about technical specification of the third-gen iPad continue to pour in. Apple on Tuesday sent invites to the media for iPad 3 keynote event which is scheduled to be held on March 7th, at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco.
According to a tweet posted by CNBC Apple’s iPad 3 tech specs would include a quad-core processor and 4G LTE network capability. The tweet mentioned that the keynote event would be held in New York which turned out to be false as Apple has already confirmed the venue of the event.
Rumors surrounding iPad 3 tech specs have been circulating the web since a long time and most reports and speculation seem to agree on the fact that the third-generation iPad will feature a faster processor with enhanced graphics. While most reports suggest it will be a quad-core processor, an A5X SoC image has been leaked which suggests that Apple could be looking at introducing minor changes to its custom-built processor. The company is known to be working on A6 and A5X simultaneously so it will be interesting to see the official iPad 3 specification once the device is unveiled on March 7th.
In addition to a faster processor many rumors suggest Apple will finally introduce 4G LTE networking on iOS devices with the iPad 3. Apple has not shown much excitement when it comes 4G or LTE networks as the company believes that it could cause serious strain on the battery.
iPad 3 is also rumored to have a slightly thicker back panel to accommodate larger battery so it’s highly possible that with improved battery life Apple could bring 4G LTE to the iPad.
In addition to these tech specs, iPad 3 is expected to have retina display with a resolution of 2,048 by 1,536 pixels and a much improved rear-facing camera.
]]> https://touchreviews.net/ipad-3-tech-specs-rumor-keynote-event-release-date-quadcore-lte/feed/ 1Apple earlier today sent out media invites for iPad 3 launch event which will be held on March 7th, Wednesday in San Francisco. The third-gen iPad will be unveiled at a keynote event at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts at 10 a.m Pacific and 1 p.m Eastern time.
Last week we highlighted a report which suggested that Apple was planning a media event in first week of March and today the Cupertino, Calif. based company officially confirmed the event date. The invite sent out to media has image of an iPad with Maps, Calendar and Keynote apps showing on the dock and the text reads “We have something you really have to see. And touch.”
Apple brought Retina Display to iOS devices with introduction of iPhone 4 and then it made its way to fourth-gen iPod touch. According to various rumors and speculation we’ve reported in the past, iPad 3 is widely expected to feature Retina Display with a resolution of 2,048 by 1,536 pixels and include a faster processor. While most evidences revealed in the past confirm the inclusion of Retina Display it’s still unclear if Apple will use a quad-core chip or a dual-core chip with enhanced graphics.
In addition to an improved display iPad 3 is also expected to feature better rear camera for taking photos however the front-facing camera might not receive any update. It is believed that in order to feature the high resolution display and better camera the iPad 3 might be thicker than iPad 2.
Apple is known to introduce complete product re-design every alternate year so iPad 3 is expected to retain the same design as iPad 2. The company could also introduce new Apple TV with “A5X” chip that could deliver 1080p content to your HD television.
Are you excited about iPad 3 launch event? What are your expectations from the event? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
]]> https://touchreviews.net/apple-unveil-ipad-3-march-7-announce-release-date/feed/ 24We recently reported that Apple on Wednesday sent out official invites for iPad 2 launch event; scheduled for March 02, 2011. 9to5 Mac just published photo of Yerba Buena Center being prepared for the media event and we are expecting more photos to be available soon.
Apple’s highly anticipated second generation tablet computer will finally be unveiled in less than 7 days and it will be interesting to see if the Cupertino based company can continue to maintain the lead in the tablet space.
iPad 2 will compete with Motorola XOOM and BlackBerry PlayBook, both tablet computers boast impressive processing power and appear to be generating great interest.
Leaked photos of iPad 2 LCD display have already revealed that the second gen tablet will be thinner, lighter and have the same resolution.
New rumors have been making rounds which suggest that Apple will introduce a modest update at the upcoming event and then introduce a major upgrade (iPad 3?) sometime in September. However, we believe that Apple would follow its yearly product cycle and not introduce another refresh before January 2012.
