The company is expected to announce the launch date for the Apple Watch during the live media event.

Apple is providing a live stream of the special event. The event will go live at 10 a.m. PDT on March 9. Live streaming video requires Safari on OS X or iOS. Streaming via Apple TV requires second- or third-generation Apple TV.

It is widely expected that Apple will announce the release date of Apple Watch and share more details about the upcoming wearable device. Apple’s CEO, Tim Cook, has already hinted at April launch of the device however, we will get to know the exact launch date during the event.

Apple is also expected to showcase third-party apps developed for the Apple Watch, provide information on battery life and other features which weren’t showcased during the iPhone 6 event last year. Most importantly the event will finally end the suspense over Apple Watch and Apple Watch Edition pricing. So far all we know is that Apple Watch Sport will be priced at $349.

]]> 0 Apple to live stream new iPad media event Thu, 16 Oct 2014 17:03:15 +0000 Read More]]> Apple will be live streaming its iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 3 media event today at 10 AM PDT from the Town Hall auditorium at Apple’s Cupertino headquarters. Just last month the company held its iPhone launch event and now its time for new tablets and possibly new retina iMacs.

The live streaming of the launch event will be available on Apple’s website and Apple TV. The live stream didn’t go so well during the iPhone event however, we hope that this time the company is well prepared to handle it.

Media invites were sent out by Apple last week which carried a tag line “It’s been way too long.” While it obviously doesn’t give much hint as to what the company will be unveiling, but it’s quite evident that the iPad lineup will be refreshed for the holiday season. Some are speculating that “been way too long” could be referring to iMacs finally getting Retina Display technology. Apple’s entire product lineup features the high resolution displays except the desktop computer.

We can expect an update on OS X Yosemite release date and it could be made available later this week. We can’t rule out that Apple TV could also be refreshed today. It’s been quite a long while since it has seen any major update.

iPad Air 2 could finally get TouchID making it easier for users to access secure information with the touch of their finger. NFC could also be included to facilitate ApplePay functionality.

A new processor, A8X will bring improved CPU and GPU performance and RAM could be bumped to 2 GB. It is unclear if the new processor will offer improved battery performance on the new iPad Air 2.

It may be hard to believe, but a lot of users do use tablets to take pictures and videos. The new iPad Air 2 is rumoured to feature 8-megapixel camera. We could also see Retina HD displays as iOS 8.1 code did reveal 3x graphics.

iPad mini 3 just like iPad 2 Air is rumoured to feature A8X processor, TouchID, and improved cameras.

What are your expectations from the event? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.

iWatch will mark the first new product category Apple is getting into since Steve Jobs. Many tech pundits had doubts about Apple’s future and often commented that the company lacks inspiration and innovation. Apple TV was touted to be the new product category that Apple will be foraying into, however it seems that it may have to wait for a bit longer.

iPhone 6 media press coverage

Apple is leaving no stone unturned to create a hype around the iPhone 6 and iWatch keynote event. During a media conference Apple’s SVP of  Internet Software and Services said, “later this year, we’ve got the best product pipeline that I’ve seen at Apple in my 25 years at Apple”. ]]> 4 Apple Inc. (AAPL) CEO Tim Cook Speaking at Goldman Sachs Conference Today Tue, 12 Feb 2013 13:54:20 +0000 Read More]]> Presentation by Tim Cook Goldman Sachs Technology and Internet Conference

Apple Inc. (AAPL) CEO Tim Cook will be speaking at the annual Goldman Sachs Technology and Internet conference. AAPL has updated its investor page with details about the conference and will also offer live audio steam of the presentation by Tim Cook.

Last year Cook had spoken at the same conference, which was his first such appearance as Apple’s CEO. After taking over as CEO of Apple, Cook has made a number of public appearances and even given video interviews to journalists. This could be the beginning of a new trend at Apple under Cook as the company becomes larger each day.

Cook has made notable attempts to keep Apple’s business practices and supplier responsibility more transparent. The annual supplier responsibility progress report acknowledged issues such as under-age workers, overtime with less wages, poor working conditions and more. The company has been making steady progress at fixing these issues and even cancelling orders with suppliers who failed to comply with Apple’s supplier demands.

To show the company’s commitment to address issues Apple even allowed ABC’s ‘Nightline’ to access and report on Foxconn factories in China. In addition to this, the company allowed F.L.A (Fair Labor Association) to audit the factories.

Tim Cook’s first TV Interview as CEO was aired by NBC’s Rock Center with Brian Williams. The interview gave a glimpse of how Cook remained confident about the company and its talent to keep pushing the boundaries. In this interview Cook reiterated the company’s commitment to bring some of the Mac production to the United States.

While we don’t expect Apple to announce any new product launches at the Goldman Sachs Technology and Internet conference however, since the company is providing a live stream it would be interesting to note what Cook presents at the conference. The presentation begins at 10:15 AM ET / 7:15 AM PT today and the live audio streaming will be available on Apple’s website.

]]> 1 Live Video Stream of Apple’s iPad Mini Keynote Event Available via Web and Apple TV Tue, 23 Oct 2012 16:41:34 +0000 Read More]]> iPad mini live video stream keynote event

Apple’s special iPad mini keynote event scheduled for today is expected to unveil all-new smaller iPad. The new “iPad mini” is rumoured to feature a 7.85 inch screen with 1024-by-768-pixel resolution at 132 pixels per inch (ppi), the same as iPad 2.

The company’s move to introduce a smaller version of the iPad will help iOS penetrate the ebook reader market and compete with the Kindle devices. Apple is widely expected to announce iBooks 3.0 and the announcement of iPad mini could be closely tied to Apple’s education initiatives. The iPad mini will also feature front and rear facing camera, lighting connector and could come in different colors.

According to recent reports, the entry level model of iPad mini is expected to be priced at $329. The new device could prove to be ideal for schools and those who want a tablet put prefer a smaller screen.

Steve Jobs was opposed to the idea of a smaller screen tablet however many believe that it was Eddy Cue who saw the potential of a smaller screen tablet that could help push iOS deeper in education market.

Unlike iPhone 5 media event, Apple will be live streaming the video of the iPad mini keynote event on and via Apple TV, the event will kick off at 10 am PDT.

]]> 3 Apple Inc. (AAPL) in Talks to Bring WatchESPN App to Apple TV? Thu, 17 May 2012 16:13:30 +0000 Read More]]>

On Tuesday, a report from Bloomberg suggested that Apple Inc. (AAPL) and parent company of ESPN, Disney, were in talks to bring the popular WatchESPN app to the Apple TV. The report mentioned a statement from ESPN executive Sean Bratches that the deal wasn’t imminent and is currently being hashed out between the two companies.

If AAPL were given the go ahead to bring the app over to the Apple TV, subscribers of select cable networks or subscribers of ESPN would be able to stream live games through the app. The WatchESPN app is currently available in Apple’s App Store and can be streamed on the iPad and iPhone as well as on Microsoft’s Xbox 360 gaming console. Bratches, the executive interviewed by Bloomberg also cleared up the negotiations between Apple and ESPN and explained the benefits of such a deal.

We’re a platform-agnostic company. To the extent that in the future there’s an opportunity with Apple to authenticate through the pay-TV food chain as we’re doing with Microsoft, that’s something we’ll participate in.

This wouldn’t be the first application pertaining to accessing live streaming sports on the Apple TV but would be one of the first major collaborations between the two companies. Currently, the Apple TV allows users to access NHL Gamecenter, and NBA League Pass.

If Apple strikes this deal with ESPN and brings the WatchESPN app over to the Apple TV, the company will likely be setting up for its rumored television set, which may incorporate an App Store of some sort, personal assistant Siri, as well as integrated features from the current Apple TV.

]]> 2 Apple Inc. (AAPL) To Sell 20 Million iPhones in Q1 2011? Mon, 18 Apr 2011 17:40:55 +0000 Read More]]> This week, on Thursday, Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) is set to release its first calendar quarter 2011 financial results, and the pundits and industry analysts are already making their guesses (educated and otherwise) as to just how many iPhone 4, iPad 2, iPods and Mac units the tech giant will have shifted.

The general consensus is that Apple Inc. will have shipped between 15 and 20 million iPhones. AAPL sold over 16 million in the quarter ending Christmas 2010. So somewhere approaching 18 million would seem to be a good bet for this next quarterly report – as iPhone sales have certainly not slowed, nor has production been a huge issue.

If you want to get the news straight from the horses mouth then you can tune in for the live stream at 5 pm Eastern (2 pm Pacific) for a live webcast of Apple’s conference call here.

Mac sales are expected to have sold in numbers approaching 4 million units. iPods are set to match their 20 million Christmas quarter figures, and iPads are set to do the same sort of figures as in that quarter also, totalling up at around 7.5 million.

All in all Apple are predicted to double their previous years revenue for this last quarter. Going from $13.5 Billion to $26.74 Billion – which makes the current price of AAPL, at $321.66, seem ridiculously undervalued.

Do you expect Apple to blow analysts predictions out of the water again? Or are we in for a shock fall in Apple revenues? Let us know your thoughts in the comments…
