GoGoPop Review: Casual Puzzle Game for Gamers of All Ages

GoGoPop [rating: 2.5/5]

No, this is not a lip gloss color. GoGoPop is a puzzle game similar to Gemlogic and Bejeweled where the objective is to connect similar blocks (not gems) to score points and ultimately clear the board. As someone who loves puzzle games, I was hoping to find another app that would remain on my Touch after my review.

GoGoPop is a puzzle game which you can enjoy by simple operation
By using touch screen, select same blocks and blast them to achieve scores to move to next Round.

You earn points by deleting more than 2 of the same blocks and can achieve more points if you delete more of the same blocks.

Each round has a theme and the blocks are shaped accordingly. For example, the fruit theme consists of blocks in the shape of apples, strawberries, bananas and watermelons. Be careful, I had a difficult time distinguishing the red apples from the strawberries. Don’t worry sports enthusiasts; there is a sports theme, animal theme and many more.

There are also three items that will assist in clearing the blocks. However, you only get to use the item once during the round so choose wisely. A new item is chosen randomly on each round. These items consist of:

  • Bomb-delete selected block
  • Undo- undo deleted block
  • Shuffle- change all of the blocks

The game also offers options that allow the user to setup the background and sound effects. As for keeping your scores, you are able to see your top 5 scores and round record.

It’s the graphics that this game is missing. The graphics are not exactly jumping out at you. In fact I find them extremely basic and small making it difficult to click on groups of blocks. If there was a downside to this game it would be the lack of directions and graphics. It will take a couple of tries before you know what you are doing. There is no multi-player option for those of you who love competition. GoGoPop is a very basic casual puzzle game for gamers of all ages.
