If you’re in the market for a completely wireless camera that supports HomeKit, including secure video analysis locally on an Apple TV or HomePod before uploading to iCloud servers, your options are limited and you might find this deal appealing. Two Eufy products, a subsidiary of Anker, are currently available at reduced prices, making them especially attractive on Amazon. The eufyCam 2C package, which includes two cameras and a base station, is priced at 100 euros, down from the usual 130 euros. If that’s not enough, the eufyCam 2C Pro package is slightly more expensive at 110 euros instead of 160 euros.
In both offerings, you receive two standalone cameras, each equipped with its own battery to power the video component and a built-in small projector. Both models are designed to withstand the elements, boasting an IP67 rating. The primary difference between the two models lies in the video sensor: the eufyCam 2C is limited to 1080p resolution while the 2C Pro offers 2K resolution. This increase in quality does not compromise battery life, which is advertised to last six months for both models. However, the superior sensor becomes redundant when used with Maison, as HomeKit only supports up to 1080p resolution regardless.
The included base station creates its own Wi-Fi network to connect the two cameras and incorporates 16 GB of local storage to retain footage. Additionally, if you prefer to use only the Maison app, you can completely disconnect the system from the internet since HomeKit operates locally. Doing so will result in losing access to the manufacturer’s app, which includes human detection, but Apple offers similar features in its own app.
If you already have a base station and an Eufy setup, you can add more cameras (up to 16 per base, but only 4 can connect to Maison via HomeKit) and these are also currently discounted. Expect to pay 50 euros for a eufyCam 2 or 60 euros for the Pro model.
