Apple recently issued a press release where they announced that White color models of the new iPhone 4 have “proven more challenging to manufacture than expected”

The media has been trying to figure out the cause behind the delay and last week Engadget reported that according to Chinese newspaper 21st Century Business Herald, the manufacturing process is experiencing issues with the paint application process for the device’s glass front and back panels.

Today we are hearing new reports which are highlighting new issues causing the White iPhone 4 delay. MacRumors published a report by Scott Moritz of TheStreet who said:

Apparently, the back light from the iPhone display screen is leaking out around the edges of the glass and seeping through the back of the white phone, according to a person familiar with the manufacturing process.

After iPhone 4 reception issues Apple would certainly like to avoid any bad press and are probably making sure that there are no compromises with the new White iPhone 4.

The launch date for the White model remains unknown and we can now only hope for a release date sometime in August or September.
