ScanCard – Business Card Scanner for iPhone [Quick Look]

ScanCard - Business Card Reader Scanner

ScanCard - Business Card Reader ScannerScanCard – Business Card Scanner for the iPhone does exactly what it says, you can use iPhone’s camera to take a picture of any business card and have it automatically convert the details on the business card into a contact.

The app couldn’t be simpler, just two buttons allow you to either take a picture directly into the app or select a picture of the business card from your photo reel.

The whole process takes less than 5 seconds and the accuracy of the text recognition is pretty good with only a few changes if any required before you save the contact to your address book.

You can also set a default contact group for the contact to be set to as well as configuring whether or not the image is saved to your photo reel or not.

If you network a lot and get a lot of business cards ScanCard could be your new best friend. The added bonus is that you can scan contact details from anywhere and it will scan it into your contacts accordingly.

I’ve been looking at business card scanner app reviews for the last hour. There have been four iPhone models, but few reviews mention which ones were used to test the apps for the reviews. That includes the above review; for all I know, the software works fine with iPhone 4 but not at all with iPhone 3G and marginally well with iPhone 3GS, as a function of the camera resolution.
