iPhone 5S keynote event is now live at the Town Hall Apple Campus. We’re expecting Apple to announce all-new iPhone 5S and a low cost iPhone 5C. The company will also share release date of iOS 7 and OS X Mavericks.
Apple has in the past streamed live video stream of the WWDC keynote event, however this year the company has not shared a live stream of the iPhone event. Last year Apple TV was updated with “Apple Events” channel for the streaming. Even though a live stream is not available many tech bloggers will be at the iPhone event to cover the event. Links to live coverage of the iPhone 5S keynote event can be found here: Engadget, Ars Technica, The Verge, Macworld, AllThingsD, CNET, SlashGear.
We will be posting tech specs, release date, photos, videos, pre-order dates and everything you need to know from today’s event as it concludes later this morning. According to various rumors and reports iPhone 5S will feature Touch ID sensor (fingerprint), faster A7 processor, dual-led flashlight and updated camera software.
Apple will also announce iPhone 5C, a low cost iPhone to make the smartphone more affordable for everyone. This could lead to significant increase in market share for Apple in a market where Android dominates with mid-priced smartphones.
iOS 7 and OS X Mavericks golden master seeds could be released today to the developers and could be made available to general public on September 17th just before the release of iPhone 5S.

A page from the user guide of the upcoming iPhone 5S has allegedly leaked online which suggests the new fingerprint scanner will be called ‘Touch ID sensor’. Apple’s iPhone 5S is about to be unveiled at a media event at 10:00 AM PT in Cupertino, Calif. and now this photo has been uncovered by Nowhereelse.fr.
The user guide photo shows the home screen of the iPhone 5S running iOS 7 and marking labels on the physical buttons of the device. Clearly the home button carries an additional label “Touch ID sensor”. The style of the home button with a silver ring is consistent with previous leak of iPhone 5S packaging photo.
Fingerprint / Touch ID Sensor could be the main highlight feature of the new iPhone 5S. It has been widely reported that Apple’s use of the fingerprint technology as a means to authenticate or unlock the device is very easy and seamless. The additional silver ring on the home button will act as a sensor to record the users fingerprint with accuracy.
The all-new iPhone 5S will also feature dual-led flashlight, new A7 processor and new camera software to support slow motion video recording. We’re just minutes away from the new iPhone being announced. The release date for the new iPhone 5S is expected to be around September 20th. Pre-orders for the new iPhone could go live as early as September 13th.
With the new Touch ID sensor iPhone 5S could be an attractive upgrade for users with previous gen iPhone. We will report on all the tech specs of the new iPhone as soon as the live keynote event is over and all details are available.

iPhone 5S keynote event will go live at 10:00 AM PT. This years media event theme is, “This should brighten everyone’s day.” It is widely believed that Apple will announce iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C at today’s keynote event.
According to various rumors we’ve published in the past iPhone 5S will retain the same design as the iPhone 5. The highlight features in the hardware could be new fingerprint sensor, dual-led flashlight and new A7 processor. The camera sensor is rumored to have new slow motion recording feature. A patent filing we reported on yesterday also suggested that the home button fingerprint sensor could also feature NFC for contactless financial transactions.
Apple is also expected to announce the all-new low-cost iPhone 5C model which will have a polycarbonate body with the same design and tech specs as the iPhone 5. A special media event scheduled for September 11 for Chinese media could suggest deal with China Mobile to carry iPhone 5C on its network. With over 700 million subscribers, a deal with China Mobile could prove to be a huge win for Apple.
In addition to iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C, Apple will share updates on iOS 7 and OS X Mavericks release date. Are you excited about today’s event? Will you be upgrading your iPhone based on the rumors about the iPhone 5S? Let us know what you think in the comments below.

The new iPhone 5S which is rumored to be announced on September 10th will reportedly feature A7 processor. According to a tweet by Clayton Morris of Fox News, the all-new A7 processor could be 31% faster than the previous A6 chip. This is the first time we’re hearing about the tech specs of the new A7 chip.
Morris also claims that the new iPhone 5S will support a dedicated chip for motion tracking. The new chip could be used for advanced camera software upgrades in the new hardware.
iOS 7 uses complex transparency and blur effects as an underlaying layer of the entire operating system. Updating the blurs and transparency in real time while tracking the users’ motion uses a lot of computational power. These effects have been turned off in older generation devices as noted in the beta version of iOS 7 since the older gen processors can’t handle the load.
It makes sense that Apple would launch the next gen iPhone with a faster A7 processor to handle the advanced UI techniques used in iOS 7. If the A7 indeed offers 31% speedier performance it would certainly make for a good upgrade option for iPhone 4S and even iPhone 5 users.
The new iPhone 5S is widely expected to be unveiled with a gold color option and also be available in 128GB version. Alongside iPhone 5S Apple is also expected to announce iPhone 5C release date which will be a low-cost iPhone in a plastic body with the same 4inch retina display.

Apple’s iPad mini, scheduled for release this Friday is already gaining recognition for several features that the Cupertino company kept quiet about the device. First, the company did not mention the special software included in iOS to identify and prevent unintended touches during the media event. Now, new reports reveal that Apple also included Stereo speakers in the new iPad mini although the device’s tech specs page does not reflect it . This would make iPad mini the first iOS device to ever receive stereo speakers, similar to those in the MacBook Air.
According to MacRumors, this change likely occurred because of the company’s move to the new Lightning dock connector, allowing for additional space for the stereo speakers. The report also suggests that speculation surrounding stereo speakers in the iPad mini were circulating for quite some time prior to the device’s announcement. Designs for the stereo speakers are seen in the iPhone where one side specifically houses the speaker, while the other side is used for the microphone while the iPad retained only a single spot on the back of the device for the speaker. During the initial wave of iPad mini reviews, Amazon posted a comparison of its Kindle Fire HD to the mini and mentioned that the iPad mini had “mono speakers”.
Again, similar to other features, Apple did not advertise or mention the stereo speakers ar the iPad mini announcement. This is Apple’s way of delighting users with the experience rather than focusing on the technical features of the device, which CEO Tim Cook and former CEO Steve Jobs believe is the mistake that other companies make. A 9to5Mac reader reportedly emailed SVP of Worldwide Marketing Phil Schiller about the iPad mini speakers and received a response that simply stated, “It is stereo”.

UPDATE: Apple has announced “The new iPad” with retina display, A5X chip with quad-core graphics, 5 MP iSight camera and more.
Rumors of the iPad 3 release date have been floating around for quite some time now, and later today the world will see Apple’s next 9.7 inch tablet. Apple issued invitations for the iPad 3 keynote event last week that is scheduled to be held today at 10 AM PT in San Francisco.
On Tuesday, a report from The Verge suggested that Apple’s iPad 3 will be unveiled with a new A5X SoC which was seen in a leaked photo a few weeks earlier. The A5X may contain the same dual-core application processor found in the A5 but may support increased graphics performance and RAM.
Both the iPad 2 and iPhone 4S currently provide 512 MB of RAM, which may increase as a result of the inclusion of the new chip. The report also suggests that Apple will be releasing multiple versions of their 3G enabled devices with separate LTE models for AT&T and Verizon and other models for 3G GSM and CDMA networks such as Sprint.
There have been rumors flying that the iPad 3 would be LTE capable, and we’re told that it will definitely be announced for both the Verizon and AT&T networks tomorrow. To be clear, that would mean two distinct, separate versions of the LTE tablet (one for each network). In addition, there’s a third international model which does double duty on 3G; a CDMA / GSM model using a similar radio chipset to the iPhone 4S (a Qualcomm Gobi chip). That’s a little odd considering LTE chipsets from Qualcomm can be utilized on those same bands, but there may be reasons (cost for instance) that Apple would want to separate the hardware.
As with a number of other rumors confirmed by sources, it was reported that Apple will be using tomorrow’s media event to release an upgraded Apple TV with full 1080p video capabilities and will enable connectivity with Apple’s AirPlay technology and mirroring abilities, which will be available in the iPad and OS X Mountain Lion.

Apple is expected to unveil and announce iPad 3 release date at a keynote event on March 7th. Over the past few months, a number of reliable sources have claimed that the iPad 3 would be released with not only hardware upgrades, but 4G LTE connectivity as well.
4G LTE roll out plans in the US are still underway and carriers are working towards proving the next generation fast networking to its subscribers. According to iMore’s sources iPad 3 will indeed feature 4G LTE connectivity:
4G LTE networking has been another mystery surrounding the iPad 3, with a compatible Qualcomm chipset becoming available, but international LTE coverage is still slim, and in some cases a year or more away. It sounds like Apple has 4G LTE lined up for iPhone 5 this October, but we’re still not certain if the iPad 3 will get it earlier.
The report notes that the source is same as the one who informed them about Apple’s iPad 3 media event scheduled for March 7th.
The same source that originally told iMore Apple would be holding their iPad 3 event on March 7 has now let us know that the announcement will in fact include 4G LTE networking. We’d heard previously that 4G LTE would be coming to iOS in 2012, but not whether it would make the cut for iPad 3, or whether Apple would save it for iPhone 5 in October.
4G LTE has only become popular over the last year in the United States and is not yet available on every network. If Apple is to include LTE networking, they are going to have to roll out the iPad 3 on Verizon which is currently the only network offering 4G LTE, then transition to others over time.
If Apple chooses not to include 4G LTE, they would have ot wait an entire year until they could include the technology in the iPad 4, although a few reports suggest that LTE model may make an appearance a few months following the initial WiFi only release. Apple’s media event is going to be Yerba Buena Center in San Francisco and will begin at 10AM PT/1PM ET.

Apple recently sent out media invitations for iPad 3 keynote event scheduled for March 7th. The invite was an image of an iPad in use, with the line, “We have something you really have to see. And touch.” Much speculation has now developed off the invite, with a number of reports suggesting that the iPad depicted on the invitation is the iPad 3 itself. The iPad screen on the invitation appears to be of much higher resolution than other invites and press images in the past.
A number of blogs, including Gizmodo, put the invitation side by side to an image of the iPad 2 and zoomed in to view pixels on both. The iPad 3 invite appeared to be more vibrant, contain more pixels, and look very similar to a Retina Display. Apple’s use of the words, “we have something you really have to see”, may hint at the fact the the screen is of higher resolution.
The report also speculated on the possibility of Apple scrapping the home button, in an effort to make the iPad screen virtually free of buttons, and to highlight the pinch to close app feature introduced with iOS 4.3. Rumors of a home-button free iPad came after many users noticed that the iPad being used in the invitation appeared to be clean, with no home button present.
With rough measurements of photos, it was determined that the iPad may in fact arrive with no home button. Apple has a record of releasing hints about an upcoming product or event through its invitations, with details ranging from an app icon, or even the design of the invitation. Apple’s iPad 3 event is scheduled to be held on March 7th at the Yerba Buena Arts Center in San Francisco. The event will kick off at 10:00AM PT/1:00PM ET. Stay tuned, we’ll keep you updated.
Are you excited about the iPad 3? Is the Retina Display or lack of home button reason for you to upgrade? Sound off in the comments below.

As iPad 3 release date announcement nears rumors about technical specification of the third-gen iPad continue to pour in. Apple on Tuesday sent invites to the media for iPad 3 keynote event which is scheduled to be held on March 7th, at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco.
According to a tweet posted by CNBC Apple’s iPad 3 tech specs would include a quad-core processor and 4G LTE network capability. The tweet mentioned that the keynote event would be held in New York which turned out to be false as Apple has already confirmed the venue of the event.
Rumors surrounding iPad 3 tech specs have been circulating the web since a long time and most reports and speculation seem to agree on the fact that the third-generation iPad will feature a faster processor with enhanced graphics. While most reports suggest it will be a quad-core processor, an A5X SoC image has been leaked which suggests that Apple could be looking at introducing minor changes to its custom-built processor. The company is known to be working on A6 and A5X simultaneously so it will be interesting to see the official iPad 3 specification once the device is unveiled on March 7th.
In addition to a faster processor many rumors suggest Apple will finally introduce 4G LTE networking on iOS devices with the iPad 3. Apple has not shown much excitement when it comes 4G or LTE networks as the company believes that it could cause serious strain on the battery.
iPad 3 is also rumored to have a slightly thicker back panel to accommodate larger battery so it’s highly possible that with improved battery life Apple could bring 4G LTE to the iPad.
In addition to these tech specs, iPad 3 is expected to have retina display with a resolution of 2,048 by 1,536 pixels and a much improved rear-facing camera.

Most educational institutions use iMacs in libraries and classrooms with older technology so this lower end iMac is the perfect way for Apple to advertise their computers and software.
Apple has offered Macs to educational institutions in the past and usually negotiated contracts with schools for a very low price. This new offer for the iMac is great for educational institutions looking to upgrade for a lower price. However, Apple has not announced any package orders for institutions for this new lower end iMac.
