Rovio have never been a company that rests on it’s laurels and that doesn’t appear to be changing as only a few days after they launched their leading brand on Facebook, that they teased their millions of avid followers with a teaser of Angry Birds Space.
Little is known about what this brand new version of Angry Birds Space will bring to the table as the only official information so far is a launch date of March 22nd, a teaser ad that can be seen on the official website and a short 20 second teaser video has also been posted on YouTube.
A quote from the Rovio blog however does promise the following:-
Angry Birds Space is a completely new game with innovative new gameplay, but with some of the familiar Angry Birds elements that fans already know and love — plus some surprises!
Gravity, or more specifically a lack of it, could be put to good use here and I imagine that we will get to see some more birds too, but it remains to be seen how innovative this is and whether it can keep them flying high.

Kick Flick 2010 is a soccer game in which the player takes free kicks. Emulating the free kick heroics of famous players such as David Beckham and Cristiano Ronaldo, the player must swerve the football around the wall of players and past the keeper, albeit by flicking the ball rather than kicking it. The game lets players compete online both worldwide and with friends.
The iPhone 4’s Retina Display boasts four times the number of pixels of its predecessors. And the iPad, introduced this year by Apple, houses an even larger number of pixels in its 9.7-inch screen. Existing games are scaled up to fill these HD displays, but games which are specifically written for the hardware can take full advantage of the extra screen resolution.
“Since both iPhone 4 and iPad have a similar resolution, they can share the same high definition content,” says developer Kevin Ng. “This means we’ll no doubt see many more games take advantage of the high definition screens of both devices in the near future. Packaging all the versions together so that the customer only has to buy the game once at 99 cents is, we think, great value.”
The update also adds a new game mode, gameplay tweaks and visual upgrades which users of older iOS devices can still access. “We’ve really upgraded the flick detection in this version, and it is now deadly accurate,” says Kevin Ng. “To curve the ball, you swipe through the ball off-center, much as the pros will kick the ball off-center in real life. We saw that in other games you must draw a curve to swerve the ball, and thought we could offer something more authentic and connected than that. We simply give the player full control over direction, power and spin through a single flick, and let physics do the rest.”
Kick Flick 2010 is available now on the App Store for $0.99 USD (£0.59, 0.79 Euro) in the Games category.

This preview build enabled me to preview the first 7 levels of the 19 that are include in Episode Two and if these initial seven are anything to go buy we’re in for a real treat when the full game is released later this year.
The game launches with a movie link that reminded me of the claustrophobic and dark atmosphere of the Alien movies. When the game launches there I was surprised to find that there is an earthly feel to the first level with a rain forest feel to it.
This doesn’t last long though and by the second level we are back inside with an industrial style. Both look even more polished than the original Dark Nebula and it’s not only the graphics that have been improved upon.
In addition to the same challenges from Episode One there are new features, puzzles and bosses and that’s after only seeing less than half the new game. The game has been expanded to included left and right scrolling to add additional real estate to the levels and features obstacles to avoid. You also get armed with weapons at times that enable you to smash your way past some of the new enemies that are now included.
Online leader boards and Facebook integration are still included so that you can compare and boast you achievements. Overall Dark Nebula Episode Two had a lot to live up too and so far it has set my mouth watering with anticipation.
