Instamory Review: A classic memory card game brought to you by SpongeForge. Collect and memorize all your favourite photos you have posted on Instagram all on your iPad.
Instamory is very easy to set up. You can choose to play with the photos that are on the Popular section, use featured photos within the game or your own photos. To use all of your own photos you have to login into your Instagram account and then you are ready to go. There is also a tag search section so you can play with a certain set of photos.
When you tap the ‘My Photos’ section at the top it will bring up a mix of your recent photos you have posted to Instagram. You can then choose those ones to play with or reshuffle to get another mix of the ones you like. Then simply select how many players between 1 and 4 and you are ready to start.
Like the normal memory card games, you tap two cards at a time to try and get a match, each taking a turn. When the cards have all been won, the player with the most cards wins the game. There are three different levels of difficulty so it is ideal for all of the family and any age.
The user interface is nice and minimal. The pictures are shown clearly so it is also great for browsing them within the app. You can also like them as well whilst you are playing the game. The music was quite annoying and something that I turned off right at the beginning of the game. The game does have some sound effects which were good and added a great touch to the gameplay.
The game is nothing really different from the many memory games out there on the App Store. The thing that does make it have a slight edge over the others is the fact it also links to your Instagram account. The ability to like and browse Instagram whilst playing is a great feature.
