BestBuy.com has stopped shipping ‘Macbook Air’ to customers in anticipation of a refresh. The web is abuzz with news of potential refreshes to the Macbook Air line and what would be introduced in the latest iteration of Appleā€™s popular computer.

9to5Mac speculates that Best Buy is limiting sales of Macbook Air in order to bring the computers to retail stores only, and limit the constrained product to as few outlets to customers as possible.

This typically means that supplies are so constrained that they have to focus their remaining inventory on their popular physical retail stores. BestBuy.com does not provide a date for when they will be shipping the notebooks again, but these types of things are usually indicative of a product refresh.

Rumors suggest that Macbook Air refresh is in the works and Apple is holding the line in order to incorporate Mac OS X Lion. Apple has yet to announce any event, possible release dates, or even a Online Store update. Mac OS X Lion is due for release this Summer, pegged for a late July time frame.
