Good thing you have the Swine Flute app. Sizing the boys up, you select the Potbelly Waltz as the song most likely to shut their traps. Applying your fingers carefully to holes on Swiny’s back, notes issue from his jiggling body. Twang his tail and thump his head for that extra exclamation of fun.

The initial app description in the app store attempts to place you in a scenario where you are stuck waiting for your plane while suffering from having to listen to two fellow passengers annoy everyone with there blathering about which passengers are terrorists or carriers of swine flu. The solution they offer is too load up the Swine Flu app and amaze your fellow passengers with it.

However, in reality, I feel that instead of solving the problem you will instead turn everyones frustration away from the original protagonist and onto you instead!

So what is Swine Flute? Well, you may not believe this but it’s an application that lets you use a pig as a flute. No, don’t stop reading yet, let me continue. On firing up the app the pink porker stands staring at you with 3 finger holes placed along the back and that’s it. Placing your fingers on the aforementioned holes will blast an oink from the singing swine and the more you stroke the holes you’ll be blasted with a symphony of piggy noise.

So is there more to this app than that? Sadly not. OK so you can add some back-ground beats and/or music for you to play along to but rather than adding to the fun it simply sucks more of the life out of it.

This is an app that you’ll either love or hate. Perhaps I’m missing something but the sooner I can close this app on my iPod Touch the better.
